We are a family of 4 with 2 kids under 5 - we booked the family room with tatami floors and it was a great experience. The room has a huge bed as well as the tatami section where the kids had a great time. There is a small kitchen so you can cook your meals if you wish, very clean and it’s nice to eat on the traditional Japanese table. Location is close to the Kyoto main area (Nishiki market, Gion, etc), but far enough that you have peace and quiet. There is a great supermarket just down the road. I would recommend !

Stay here late May and it was a great choice for the price. The room is clean and big enough for family of 3, the location is close to bus stop to go sight seeing but it is a little bit far 10 minutes walks to subway with luggage.

My family of five stayed five nights in April 2023. It’s a nice sized by Japanese standards. It’s a nice experience as pretty Japanese architecture rather than a vanilla hotel room. The location is good. The service of the staff is good. Two adults had a massive bed. The three kids spread out with mattresses and that worked fine. The bathroom is nice. There are free laundry machines with free soap. There was a problem that we figured out how to solve. There is a sensor near the bathroom door so if someone in the family wakes up at 1 am, it lights up the room. By opening a kitchen cupboard door and putting paper and towels in place, I could stop that. Had I not figured that out, I would have rated lower.

Boutique style hotel with self catering rooms in a good location and very reasonably priced. Rooms modern but traditional and comfortable with all you need. Reception staff very helpful but only available 2-11pm
