Ulasan Hakuna Majiwe Beach Lodge

After a week of safari in mainland, we were dleighted to rest in such a great place. The team had been very welcoming and always available. The Chef has developped a tasty menu - always fresh products for good value. Our kids were taught how to play local games while we had a relaxing time enjoying Julia’s massage or discussing with the team. We all enjoyed walking along the peaceful and beautiful beach only 10 minutes walk from the busy Jambiani where you can find bars if you’re looking for a fun night. We were only one hour away from the Stone Town or the North beach where you swam with dolphins. The whole team, includinf the kitesurf instructoe, has been very friendly and helpful. Our kids loved it here!

Just the right place if you want total relaxation and connect with nature as the property is surround by trees and beautiful coastline. True to the name, the sand is white and no stones. We were upgraded as our room AC unfortunately developed a problem. The manager Mr. Sourav made sure our stay was very comfortable. The Chef went out of his way to make sure we had nice seafood cuisine. Kudos to Mr. Sourav, Chef and the entire team!! The pool and it's surrounding environment which is also covered by trees giving you the feeling of being in the forest was amazing. On the flip side, the rooms should be fitted with glass windows so that the room gets cooled with AC. A place I will recommend.

Our stay at Hakuna Majiwe was amazing. The location is great, close to Paje center, yet far enough to have a quiet time, surounded by beautiful nature. The crown jewel of this hotel are it`s employees. They made sure that we had everything we needed and they made us fall in love with the kindness of swahili people. Chef Chedrak and David`s food was amazing and they made sure that we love the dishes every day and that we do not leave hungry. The food at the restaurant was such good quality, that we couldn`t get ourselves to eat someplace else the whole stay. The yard was always clean and well kept and we even saw monkeys in front of our room. The only thing that wasn`t 5/5 were the rooms. They cleaned everyday, but some elements were just old and deteriorated, like the bed canopy or the bathroom faucets. All in all, we had a great vacation, the employees and chefs were great and we left with a good impression, willing to come back.

A little house on a very white beach and lots of good food , we were very satisfied especially for the beautiful excursions of Raoul , the sound of the sea , no windows, just the Africa we were looking for,clean room with mosquito nets every day towels, perfett!!! A dream

Staying at Hakuna Majiwe felt like finding a hidden slice of paradise, a real good value for money. It was made even more special by the incredible team that runs the place. I came here with my parents and my sister this summer, end of July approx. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and genuine care that it felt like coming home. The staff here aren’t just doing their jobs—they’re truly passionate about making your stay unforgettable. Every interaction, from the friendly greetings in the morning to the thoughtful touches throughout the day, showed how much they genuinely care about their guests' experience. They cared a lot, helping with the suitcases, bringing the food to the room (room service), showing a service and type of staff seen nowhere but as in Hakuna Majiwe. What really stood out to me, though, was the food. Breakfast had a variety in worldwide and local food, which is thanked to try the flavors from Zanzibar. Every meal was a treat, bursting with fresh, local flavors, they tasted amazing, hats off to the chef, who even asked us if everything was good! The chefs clearly put their heart into every meal, and it shows. If we had to mention a downside, we would say that, as we kind of came in a time in which there were no guests, we missed a bit more of activity, animation at the hotel… Though, some new guests came the last 2 days we had there. Hakuna Majiwe isn’t just a hotel; it’s a place where you feel truly looked after, where every detail is taken care of so you can fully relax and enjoy your surroundings. The amazing staff, food and decoration made my stay here something I’ll always remember fondly! Thanks!!

This lodge was a pleasant surprise! We had to change our trip plans at the last minute. We just needed to book a room for our last night. The rumors of loud partying in this region had kept us away. The Hakuna Majiwe was delightful! The property was huge and beautiful! Monkeys cavorted in the many trees on the vast property. It was quiet, private and relaxing. The pool is huge and on a beautiful natural setting. The manager helped us with our travel needs which we greatly appreciated!

The property is excellent for a peaceful stay. Nice and clean accomodation .Service oriented, friendly and helpful staffs. The beach is clean and ideal for kite surfing provided by the lodge. Though the restaurant was destroyed in recent cyclone and is being rebuilt up , the other facilities are reasonably good.

Do not stay here! Absolutely disgusting! It’s nothing like the pictures! There’s no restaurant it’s all burnt down , the place is derelict! The pool umbrellas are absolutely filthy and covered in mould ! We had been on safari in Tanzania for a week and desperate for a shower , to arrive and have no hot water! The food was so bad we both ended up with bad stomachs. The bathroom was filthy, the taps covered in rusty mould. No atmosphere, we were the only guests there! They need to close it and do a complete revamp. This is the worst place I’ve ever stayed in, we finally left early as we booked another hotel for our last 3 nights up the beach which was wonderful! To find out from their management that two German ladies also left early as we did to go and stay with them. They didn’t receive a refund and niether have we. Please be warned do not be fooled by the 4 star ratings and pictures. If your looking for a lovely hotel along that beach I would highly recommend Zula Hotel.

Our stay at hakuna majiwe was really wonderful.They are very welcoming us from the beginning.The location is perfect, right on the beach and amazing views of the ocean.The staff is very attentive and polite, always smile on the face.food also very good Thanks for wonderful hospitality

Great Location at Paje with a wonderful beach. Check Inn was really comfortable and I get a welcome Drink. The rooms and bathrooms has lot of space. And it was possible to relax on terrace too. Hotel has a big Pool which you can use wgen Tide is low ;). All employees were very friendly and the breakfast was top. Fresh omlettes done perfectly and I didnt missed nothing at breakfast. Hotel is close to Center of paje for example if you need something from pharmacy. Manager was helpful when I need a needle at night they concerned even with that little Thing. I can Highly recommend this resort. There are enough Deck chairs and free wifi even outside is avaiable. Thanks to All Team;)

We really RECOMMEND staying at Hakuna Majowe Beach Resprt. The resort is traditional and beautiful, the view is speachless and the vibe feels indeed like a VACATION one from all points of view. The room was cleaned up daily and the towels were changed every other day. In the evening the clean ladies used some Spray for mosquitos and let us candies on the bed. The staff was extremely friendly, polite and helpful, we met Abdul who took care to have all our meals even if we came from excursion when the Lunch schedule was already done, the chief cooked us fresh seafood and tradițional food. We also had a Maasai show in one of the evenings spent there. The beach is beautiful, the sand is white and the sea is turquoise, you can swim in the ocean either on the morning or afternoon depending on the tide. They have a big and clean swimming pool surrounded by beautiful nature and free monkeys that are always playing. The WIFI works excelent. The only thing we DISLIKE was the presence of lizards on the house’s walls and sometimes in the room. Also there are bats on the house’s roof top. There is no refrigerator in the room. We enjoyed staying and relaxing here, there is planty of activities you can do in Zanzibar.

Such an incredible stay for a vacation. I was dreaming of living in a small house by the beach and eating fresh fruits everyday, this hotel has the exact same vibe. if you like to relax and have a quiet surrounding, this is your place to go. Good for families, pairs and people who love quite. The location of the hotel was good, not too far from Paje downtown, with an empty beach. What I liked most about the hotel was the vibe and atmosphere, really nice employees, which are taking care of you and making sure you have a good time, they pay attention to details, what I really liked. The housekeeping is coming twice a day. As you are taking your dinner, they are preparing your bed for sleep with the mosquitonet and spray. Everyone is greeting you, making sure you feel good. I haven’t noticed any bad vibes at all. The hotel rooms need some renovation, especially the bathrooms and the food also a little bit of upgrade. But still a really nice place to stay, would definitely recommend it.

The worse stay in the whole island, we did not feel safe, I have been to Zanzibar twice and I swear it is the worse nightmare and worse people over there, no facilities no internet no ac and food quality is beyond poor, no place to chill as the workers are sleeping at the reception all day all night, spiders at the bathroom and blood stains on bed sheets add to that that after our payment was disclosed through booking their unsettled manager called us the police as he wanted to pay one more time at the property they made us pay for free water they raised the rate on us, they did everything a person doesnt want on his vacation, stay away from this sick place please and ps it is in jambiani not paje as they claim

The beach is extraordinary! The hotel must be renovate! The room was clean, but needs to be renovate. The pool area as well... The staff very friendly and helpful. For all inclusive is a little bit poor...can be improved!
