Reef & Beach Resort - Spa Jambiani

'Jambo' ,Just returned after an 8 night stay, and was extremely sad to leave. If you love monkeys you will be in heaven. I hoped to see them during my stay, but not several times each day, was brilliant,they seem to love showing off in front of the tourists, one day some even made it down to the jetty bar, they are amazing fun to watch. I had a garden room, which was huge, it was sprayed each evening by 'mosquito lady' and the mosquito nets surrounded the bed, however I didn't get bit once - and I always normally get bit. Main restaurant was very good, and there is also an Italian and Indian which you book for either lunch or dinner - and can be booked several times during your stay, if you visit the Indian go over to the balcony area to take a pic as its a brilliant view. If you love ocean swimming this place is a dream, the colour of the sea is just amazing - exactly like being in the Maldives. There is a tide, which changed considerably during my stay but for the first few days managed to get the early morning swim before breakfast in - sea was generally a hot 27'. Totally amazing. There are several sets of steps from the jetty bar to get into the sea - the best 2 being close to the jetty bar. There are also a few cats, and 3 tiny kittens which live near the Italian so anyone visiting please look out for them, I fed them everyday,,so hopefully someone will continue to look after them. Staff are all lovely here, and I have already booked to come back next year. It's about 60 to 90 minutes drive from the airport, and you do need to take out the Tanzanian Insurance, get a visa - which I had problems with online, but you get a form on the plane and do it at the airport when you arrive - 50$ cash, also there is a tourist tax. There are also 2 swimming pools within the complex, which were extremely warm. It was rainy season when I arrived, don't worry it rained a little the first few days but did always clear up and was always baking hot, but the last 3 days were wall to wall sunshine. Try to catch a sunset from the jetty bar - amazing . If you like 'rustic' you will love it here, I loved everything. Stunning hotel, lovely welcome from staff at reception. Tidy rooms, friendly staff, brilliant entertainment. Indian and Italian restaurant as well as buffet. Beautiful jetty bar with steps into the sea. Food cooked fresh with good variety. Activities through the day, shops on site which accept card payments. Lovely atmosphere across the resort, the staff really made our holiday memorable. Special mentions to Adam - bar staff Leonardo - Italian restaurant and Syed - excursions

I arrived on the morning of my birthday. Debora and her staff in hospitality endured that I had the best sea front room. Decorated the room and had a beautiful welcome to the hotel. During my stay I felt well cared for and considered, even when I wasn't feeling well. Debora ensured I was feeling better and checked on me. Each staff member did their job with a smile and were extremely kind snd generous. My purpose of my trip was a well earned rest and as it was Ramadan, I went at a very quiet time. The weather was amazing the majority of time I was there but become stormy 2 days before I left due to rainy season. Food was consistently good in restaurants. Only fault was snack back would preferred some more quick hot food ie burgers etc and a bit more range. My room.was extremely comfortable and the mosquito net service and sprayed in the evening ensured I did not get 1 bite! The hotel is extremely clean consistently and beautiful views. Swimming in sea available when tide is out.. Thank you so much reef and beach for an awesome 10 days.

The hotel was perfect. Loved the food and all the drinks aswell as all the attentive staff from all sectors. Big shout out to Adam from the bar and Basim from the spa (dla polakow powiedz haslo Szakul zeby dostac discount na massaze ). Loved the monkeys, loved the jetty bar with the pier. There is high and low tides which I personally find really amazing as I've never seen that happen before in so little time. This is all shown on a board by the reception and jetty bar so you know the best time for swimming. I can't fault anything apart from the power cuts and not air con occasionally but that's not on the resort. We had a letter stating the tanzanian government will have powercuts. The hotel was aware and provided free transfers for day trips and extra bits if you were more bothered by this. We personally really loved and enjoyed the place. Highly recommend and will return❤️

Everything you need in one resort. Food was amazing Facilities excellent, especially the jetty to the ocean and all swimming pools. Friendly service from all the staff and comfortable rooms. Quite remote but easy to get around to all activities by taxi

The hotel is built around mangroves and the monkeys could be seen all over the hotel which always made our day. It has an authentic feel and it was nice to see locals in the water harvesting seaweed and Maasai on the beach. There was a Maasai show one evening which was great fun to watch. The room had everything we needed and the bathroom / dressing area was huge. We were located near the lobby and there were no problems with noise. The hotel is beautiful and we were honestly awed as we walked around the hotel. We spent a lot of time on the jetty on the days we stayed in resort and had no problems finding sunbeds even when arriving at around 10. The jetty bar is great and a lovely place to spend an evening. It was windy at times but didn’t impact things too much. Admittedly we found the main restaurant did lack variety compared to other all inclusive hotels we stayed at but we always found something to eat. There is another restaurant on site that was payable and we visited twice for dinner while we were there. Fantastic service and food both times. The lobster (around $25) was huge. Staff are great and can’t do enough to help. We had several excursions during our stay which we all enjoyed and spent some time in Paje which is a short taxi ride from the hotel at a cost of around $20. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to Zanzibar and this hotel!
