We chose Kushimoto Mercure as a transit hotel on the way to Kii Katsuura. Unexpectedly, both Kushimoto and Mercure gave us a surprise!
The hotel has a pick-up bus at Kushimoto Station. The body of the bus is written in English, so everyone should pay attention. Although the hotel is not far from the station, it is on the mountain, so don't push the suitcase up. The taxi is just the starting price.
The hotel room is not small, and the decoration standard is very ordinary for an economy hotel. It is clean and hygienic.
There are free snacks, beer and drinks in the lobby in the afternoon and evening, and there are several kinds of wine in the evening. It's nice to have a drink in the evening.
The hotel's buffets in the morning and evening are very good, all kinds of seafood sashimi are very fresh, and wine and drinks are free to drink.
The hotel hot spring is very good and clean, and you can see the Hashigawa Rock from the outdoor hot spring pool.
The sea of Kushimoto is very beautiful on a sunny day, and there are some small attractions around it that are worth visiting. There are also two large supermarkets in front of the station, with many things and cheap.
The hotel service is very good, and the hotel bus driver is very friendly.

Tips for friends who come to this hotel by train:
There are two stations to get here, one is Kushimoto Station, which is more than two kilometers away, but it is a normal road, that is, there is a sidewalk (Picture 1). We arrived at around 10 o'clock in the evening. Although there were very few people walking by, There is only a short section of the road that is dark, but overall it is easy to walk, and the restaurants open at night are all concentrated near Kushimoto Station. The other is Kiihime Station, which is more than one kilometer away. Although it is close, it is a very small station. The walk from this station to the hotel is like a highway without sidewalks. People have to walk on the driveway (Picture 2 3) When we left the next morning, Google's navigation told us to go this way. We didn't see any street lights along the way. It's hard to imagine how dangerous it was to go this way the night before. It is recommended that if you can take a taxi, it is best. If you walk there, you should choose to get off at Kushimoto Station, which is farther but safer.

The facility feels old, but it is good to be maintained. Moreover, I am satisfied with a large room. It can't help but be expensive, but it would be better if it was a little cheaper.
