Kunming Guandu Fontoo Hotel

I had an amazing experience staying at the Fontoo Hotel - beyond five stars. The most impressive part is the hospitality from the hotel staff whether it was at the front desk, or the breakfast restaurant, or room service, or the hotel manager, everyone is very kind and proactively providing the best service to their customers. The hotel is elegantly designed, the room is decent and clean, and the beddings are very comfortable. The breakfast has a huge variety of food and are delicious (they switches up menus across the days so you will never get bored). They also deliver evening Yín Ěr Tāng (Snow Fungus Sweet Soup) to your door. Conveniently located at a central place where you can walk to the mall (Wang Xiang Cheng), supermarket, restaurant, bakery, McDonald, Starbucks etc in a few minutes. Also close to public transportation and easy to get taxi or ride share. Special thanks to Xiao Xia, Xiao He, Wan Bao and Xiao Yang at the front desk for making my check in and extension of stay process super smooth and pleasant. I arrived a few hours earlier and asked whether it was possible to check in earlier. Although the room I booked was not ready, they went above and beyond to offer me a free upgrade to a room that is immediately available. Thanks to the restaurant staff Qin Ling for helping me pack breakfast to go while I was in a rush. Mostly, I’m thankful to the hotel operational manager Mr. Tao for checking in to ensure my stay is pleasant, accommodating parking for my family’s visit, and providing timely response to my questions. There are many other staff I met during my stay who are very friendly and supportive - everyone is amazing and striving to provide customers the best service. I highly recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. You will be amazed.

24Hr McDonald just 1 mins away. Subway station about 15 mins walk. 万象城 within 2 mins walk... This mall is not crowded, not as many eating choices as are normally found in such large malls in China. I think this mall location doesn't attract enough customers traffic, as there are very large scale residential property projects nearby which are still under construction. I think it will needs another 3-5 years before expected level of customer traffic will appear.

Great hotel, fantastic location near shopping mall, MRT station and with fabulous staffs. First I must comment Mgr Zi Wen, she is so helpful and recommended to me shopping area, walking streets, attractive flowers market, even give me the map and direction to there. Both Mgr Siang Ya and Thomas provided excellent help and assisted my small request as I have a late flight. Thank you so much! We had a wonderful experience in Kunming. :) This is a highly recommended hotel. 5 Stars Service!
