Getting There - 2hrs drive from Kochi airport. The hotel arranged for a transfer taxi. 5,000/- one way.
Arrival- Welcomed with chandan tika, welcome drink, cold towel and a big smile by the staff.
Room- Got it early then the checkin time. Rooms are big, well lit with good views. But they need a lot of maintenance and refurbishment.
Hotel- Green, peaceful, clean.
Food & Restaurants - Only 1 restaurant with limited menu. But everything we ordered was delicious and good in portion size.

The ambience and room I had at Niraamaya was very very peaceful, relaxing, and rejuvenating. I also was fortunate enough to get great yoga instruction from Athul Krishnan. He was very disciplined and on time always. He allowed me to learn a variety of different yoga maneuvers, breathing exercises and I felt like I was pampered. His voice was radiating and his demeanor was always personable. I highly recommend him as an outstanding yoga teacher. Ajaysh was my masseuse and he was extremely thorough, diligent and explained the variety of different oils and medicinal herbs that were utilized. He did an amazing job in also helping me clear up my sinuses. I highly recommend his as a masseuse. Dr. Anjali was great in giving medicinal advice as well. The kitchen staff and chef were amazing and provided excellent tasting and nutritious food. I felt very relaxed and was able to de-stress and had an amazing experience.

We booked a lake view pool villa for our stay for this weekend, we had a great relaxing time with our family after a very very long time. Thanks to the staff who made our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We will surely relish the memory of staying there

Loved the hospitality and the views. We were on our anniversary trip to Kumarakom and stayed at Niraamaaya. They put so much attention to make our stay amazing. From decorating our villa to helping plan a surprise candle light dinner.. would love to come back and would definitely recommend.

The perfect holiday- serene surroundings, one with nature, comfortable rooms, amazing food and superlative staff taking care of you!!! Thank you Joemon and the entire staff- Sajeesh, Gautam, Prasumna for making our holiday memorable filled with special moments. The tasty Kerala delicacies by the chef , the fun hi tea get together with kite flying & the geese and the spa, all make for the ideal getaway. The caring staff to make sure all your needs are met , stems from the open and helpful nature of the higher ups like Joemon. A big big thank you from us

Here for a family vacation with my elderly parents to visit my father's home town. We checked in late on the first night. There is about 20 stairs from the front entrance to the check in area. The elevator wasn't working. I told the hotel well ahead of time that my parents have limited mobility. There isn't any assistance to help them out to their room from the dining area and the lobby which is 75 meters away. When we get to the room I see my father crawling up the stairs because there is no railing or anything else to hold on to. I ask the manager if they have any railings or if there is any way to help reduce a fall risk and the manager was quite unhelpful. When we got to dinner where 3 tables were occupied, I ask for something quick to get for my small children. I figure chicken nuggets and pappadam would be the fastest thing. After 45 minutes minutes, I ask the waiter if they are ready yet, another 15 minutes before the nuggets came out. Yes, that's right 60 minutes before frozen fried chicken nuggets were ready. The rest of the theyal, thorin, meen curry and dhal came out another 20 minutes later. It's a shame because the staff are nice and the property is beautiful. I just would expect more basic care for guest needs, especially at this price point.

The stay was nothing but average. The room was perfect no doubt and it was super clean. Even the food quality was nice. However, i have to comment on the f&b service, they just had one restaurant and the service was very slow. It took almost 30 mins for any dish to arrive. Moreover, very few veg options.. and the restaurant staff wasn’t that friendly… plus the spa facility was ok.. shirodhara is not recommended here. Pls don’t go for it. The morning Yoga session at the spa was great tho. Must-do for sure! The hi-tea options are so limited.. even tho its for free they have nothing much to serve. And the timing for hi-tea is just half an hr i mean cumon! They need to improve the services for sure!

My husband and I had a great experience with Niraamaya Kovalam Resort in February 2023 and so decided to try their Kumarakom location this year. We weren’t disappointed, and found the same beautiful surroundings, personalized service and comfortable accommodations as on our previous experience. Our private lake-view villa with small pool was the perfect getaway from India’s large, crowded cities. I enjoyed the Ayurveda massages on a near-daily basis, while my husband appreciated the range of western and Indian dishes in the restaurant. We’d like to give a special shoutout to Prasanna, Restaurant Supervisor, and Habilash, Housekeeping Supervisor, both of whom contributed greatly to making our stay comfortable. Although relaxing and enjoying the tranquil beauty of Kumarakom was our main purpose, we were also able to visit the centuries-old Hindu temples of Ettumanoor and Vaikom within a short drive of an hour or less, and take a leisurely boat trip to sites located on Lake Vembanad. We will definitely be back to Kerala and look forward to visiting Niraamaya’s other locations.

Our stay in the Niraamaya Wellness Retreat ended up being a happy choice after a few strenuous days hiking in Periyar and Munnar. From the very first moment we were assisted and supported by a helpful team always willing to tend to our needs. We were allocated a spacious and comfortable villa nicely located close to the waterline which allowed to have a proper immersion into the natural environment of Alleppey backwaters. Being low season some of the amenities were at half gas but that did not stop us from enjoying all needed services including ready in room dining or a la carte restaurant catering for delicious Indian food with assistance from the staff, chef Arun preparing fresh fish. We wanted relaxation and uncomplicated wellness so it was great to be able to book immediate slots in the spa for our choice of ayurvedic treatment gently done by Shilpa perfectly combined with complementary yoga sessions mastered by Athul. We also made use of the pool, but we did find it a bit exposed and lacking shade and supporting facilities/equipment, something that can be improved. All in all it was a lovely stay, we will be surely be recommending it at home
