Esmeralda Hotel

We stayed here for 4 nights as a last minute trip. The hotel was fantastic! Small family run hotel with lovely greek, friendly and welcoming hospitality. The pool, area and bar were super clean and well maintianed, food was nice and freshly cooked. Room was spacious and clean with great size fridge. Only 5/10 min from airport yes alot of traffic outside hotel but after a day we barely noticed it! Bus directly outside hotel takes you to Rhodes old town in around 20 mins. Large supermarket across road. Above all it was the staff that were fantastic lady at reception so friendly and gave plenty of advice on buses and things to do. Young girl serving in daytime was so friendly nothing too much trouble. Owners lovely old greek couple when saying goodbye the woman was kissing my cheeks and asking us to come back could have taken her home!! But the 2 barmen Toni and Nikitas went above and beyond. So lovely and friendly had couple of great nights with them. Will deffinately be back. Highly recommend. The owners don't speak English, therefore if you have a problem you have to wait for reception to open at 1800hrs.24 hr reception does not exist. Kettle in your room, 2 cups and saucers,only the bathroom sink for washing them! A mini fridge. On the plus side very clean.

Once again we have just had 2 weeks at Esmerelda Dimitris Hotel Kremasti. This is around 12/14 times we have been there. Some years we have been twice and one year 3xs. I cannot believe some of the harsh comments about this Hotel. There are many of us who go time and time again and meet up there. Mama as we call Esmerelda is lovely and very hard working. Food is freshly cooked and excellent. We did miss the full English breakfast this time, however the food received was good. Rooms cleaned daily except Sunday and Esmerelda (Cleaner. Not owner) does a very good job keeping it spotless.

We have literally just come back from this hotel today and to be honest we have a mixed opinion about it . Firstly Catarina and Nikitas are absolutely brilliant and are probably the best thing about the hotel .Very hardworking,friendly and helpful people ,impressive especially as they are both so young . The hotel itself is very clean , our room was immaculate. There’s air conditioning,a mini fridge ,kettle and cups but no actual tea or coffee . We had a terrace which was thankfully shaded most of the day . The rooms are spacious with lots of storage. The breakfast was fab and freshly cooked but there is no menu so Catarina has to list out the options to you . The bus to Rhodes stops right outside the door which is a real advantage. There isn’t much to do in Kresmasti during the day but buzzing with atmosphere at night . That’s the good but there are loads of stupid rules as well . You aren’t allowed to bring a bottle of water from your room or from outside the hotel to the pool area . The pool doesn’t seem to have an obvious filter and so can get scummy around the edge . One of the poor cleaners was on her knees scrubbing the green off the other morning . The food is fabulous and home cooked but sometimes you feel like asking for lunch is a huge problem. Esmeralda is there all day and sometimes falls asleep at a table . Her husband is unreal , he stomps around scowling at people and shouts if there’s a problem . He seems to forget you’re paying to stay there . It was really noisy at night with people messing about but I don’t blame the hotel for that but maybe they should add it to the rules . We had a good enough week there but I wouldn’t return .

his Hotel was a nightmare experience We had booked since September 2023 Agreed on a price with email proof in writing. Confirmed room type and price again in May 2024 Arrived at the hotel all ok so far This is where the negative experience begins Showers do not have hot water The Pool was not cleaned and had mould on the sides along with many other floating objects The owners observe and criticise all the guests on the daily. Being Greek I could underStand what they were saying which was very often degrading However the negative experience does not end there I went to pay for the room and received the account. It was €500 more than the agreed price ( we stayed two weeks ) When I questioned this the old ladies excuse was that the room that we booked and agreed upon was not available upon our arrival so she put us in better room hence the change. I argued the point that we did not request a different room nor were we consulted however her response was “ well what do you want me to do about it, this was the only room I had “ This is very poor management as they essentially ripped us off… STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE We left the hotel even though we were due to stay a further three days Upon speaking to other people in the town we were informed that this hotel has a reputation for doing this to their guests and it isn’t the first occurrence Disgraceful behaviour I am writing this as a warning to everyone to NEVER EVER stay here

JUNE 2024 We stayed for a week nice and clean rooms and wonderfull staff! The receptionist is very kind and helpful and Tony in the night is fantastic. Poor morning waitress... the old couple always shouting at her and once we saw her crying.. too bad.. The old owners always sleeping on the chairs.. not good for us who want to stay at the pool and relax as between their sleep always watching the guests, we felt two eyes on us all the time. We stayed only once at the pool eventhough we had a tasty lunch there but we came on holidays to relax and feel free not to be told because we sat on the chairs after visiting the pool. Despite the old couple we had good time thanks to the staff who provided us with information what to do and where to go! Thank you all!!!
