Sorobon Luxury Beach Resort

My sister and I spent the week here at the tip of Bonaire. The Sorobon is a bit off the beaten path but has a beautiful bay with wonderful staff. The suites are clean and comfortable. If you’re planning to spend time in Bonaire you definitely need a car or truck. We arrived at the airport and were unable to find a ride (as it was Sunday). Louisa from the front desk literally came to pick us up. We then rented a truck (which I would recommend planning to do ahead of time, live and learn). There are so many amazing snorkel spots on the island but you need a vehicle to get there. Even the snorkel spots that are considered busy are not that crowded. Beautiful setting, lovely staff, wonderful sea breeze. The rooms we stayed in had a kitchenette so we were able to eat a nice peaceful breakfast before heading to snorkel. The water right on the resort is beautiful blue but mostly occupied by windsurfers. You can walk out beyond them for a snorkel or a swim. The staff here are just so lovely. We were possibly the only Americans here. We felt so well cared for and had a great time.

Paradise! This resort is a true gem, we had such an amazing week during Christmas. We stayed in 2 connected ocean view houses, beautiful designed, clean with very comfy large beds. Welcomed with a bottle of bubbly in the fridge :) We stayed all inclusive, the a la carte meals and drinks were all included and very good. Via a whatsapp system any question we had was swiftly answered. Enough daily coffee cups and toiletries, lounge beds and cabana's on the beach super comfertable with fluffy towels. The ocean is so warm and a perfect place for windsurfing (or learning how to).The team was so sweet and went the extra mile.. A special thanks to Louisa and her parnter manager. Also to Emma, Amber, Jolie, Pleun, Pippa, Elena, Kelvin, Bram, Kaya, Hilde, Joyce, Feline and Angela. I hope I got all the names! Goes without saying I recommend this place and we will return for sure! Els Koot

Staff very friendly and great communication with the manager as I had some spacial requests. The cabins are confortable and nicely furnished. The only small problem is that the door in between the living rooms lets all the noise from the neighbours be heard. Not a problem in the bedroom though. At the restaurant we always enjoyed the food and the friendly service. The massage Therapist has golden hands, I highly recommend to book one (or more!) massage during the stay. They also have a windsurfing school, with attractive prices.

Everything about this resort is absolutely stunning.The sea,the water sports,food,drinks and service were all exceptional.Shop selling beautiful beach and summer wear and accessories was well stocked with friendly owner.If in Bonne Aire do not miss out!

Not a 4 star and not luxury I was very excited to bring my family to the supposedly fully renovated resort under the new ownership and was willing to pay the premium price for the perfect experience which started on the wrong side after l made a reservation for a family suite which is supposed to be 2 connecting rooms and few days after I made the reservation I got a call from the hotel manager that explained that they don’t have this suite available… and than he can give 2 separate rooms trying to convince me that a family room is not a connecting room which was not true. Regarding the actual staying in the hotel, it was very disappointing since the the renovated rooms was not a 4 star resort.. the bed sheets were really the lowest level, the pillows were like rocks and the kitchen and the toilet sinks were pilling as you can see in the pictures. The most horrific part that made my wife and my daughter run away from this hotel to Delfin ( which made my cost double) The reason that they left the hotel is that while my 11 y/o daughter went to the bathroom one of the employees opened the window and was picking inside while she was there!!! ( as you can see in the picture) Regarding the other aspect of the resort - the breakfast was very delicious but the service was super slow even when there was 5 waiters serving only 5 tables, they were ignoring the tables most of the time including one guy that claimed that the new owner is his godfather…. Bottom line - definitely doesn’t worth the price and very disappointed.

We stayed one week in the resort and had an amazing time. In my opinion it is the best location in the island, away from the city and in an amazing environment. The rooms are wonderful, you have a very complete kitchen, we had lunch a couple of times and one outdoor dinner. Breakfast is fantastic and the Reef bar , where breakfast is served is by the ocean with wonderful views. I am not giving it a 5 because of the following details: the personnel is very helpful, really very nice, especially Louisa who helped us a lot with the reservation and with the car rental and recommended us some restaurants. However, when it came to hiring a boat tour they just recommended to us to look it up in the internet. All worked well in the end because we found a tour and they made the reservations and asked for all the details but it would be great if the resort worked with some recommended tours. Also, the safes didn’t work (in the end also not so important since the island is very safe). And finally we found the Reef bar quite pricey when compared to the other restaurants in the island. If possible I would give it a 4,5 but overall we are very satisfied with our choice. We went to other resorts to have dinner or take the water taxi to Klein Bonaire and Sorobon is way more beautiful!!! Definitely recommend it as the best in Bonaire
