Mitsis Summer Palace

Not a good gym. Rooms are nice. Food so so but lots of greens. Needs refurb in common areas and too expensive

Check in we arrived late at night we were checked in quickly and offered food then showed to our room Room After reviewing we decided to choose a superior room with sea view and plunge pool. In the new building. Great choice definitely recommend The room has all the amenities you need (except an iron) it also has a mini bar which is replenished daily. A drop head shower which was great only downside to the room was the shower flooded the whole bathroom and toilet but no big deal. The pool is fab and climatized so isn’t freezing if the weathers good. It also has a jacuzzi function. Amazing sun loungers and a fabulous sea view. Food. We ate at 3 of the restaurants. Main buffet restaurant Usual buffet stuff. Table service for drinks. Breakfast and lunch were nothing exciting Dinner was good nice puddings and meats were cooked well. Same as any other AI buffet. Would have liked to see more choice. A lot of the food were missing menu cards so did not know what they were and no mayonnaise. My partner really liked the olive pate. Med bar this was booked whilst we were here Salad and pizzas were nice. You can also get pizza as a snack during the day The BBQ Den we pre booked this one before our holiday. Not as fun as I thought it would be but interesting to cook my own food. Zia’s beach snacks. The Gyros were fabulous. Cocktails were ok but watery, bar staff would make what you want if it’s not on the menu. We booked a candle lit meal for 300€ . It was 7 courses served in the nest the food was amazing. Was ruined a bit by guests constantly walking by so not very private but still an experience. Thank you to Alex our server for the night he was fabulous. We had a lazy gazebo nest afternoon to for 40€ These were booked at the reception but can be booked on the app. The app said smoothies and snacks. We received a fruit platter it was nice but would have liked some savoury items. You get the gazebo for 3 hours but due to the heat we didn’t stay the duration. Pools Infinity pools No sun loungers after 9am. The water was warm though. Indoor pool A bit cool but nice once in. We did not use any other pools in the complex as had our own. Beach Tiny pebbles and rocks so beach shoes may be good. The sea was clear and you can see lots the fishes that was an experience. Sun loungers were comfy and there were plenty till around lunch time. Peddalos were free for half hour a day. Jet skis 60€ It’s a secluded relaxing place with not a lot going on other than the paid fur water sports but perfect to chill for a week. There was entertainment most nights which was good. It is not suitable for those with mobility issues or children. My only main issue was the lack of information and communication it was not easy to find areas. The bars have QR codes for the menus but only the cocktails listed it didn’t list the snacks/soft drink options etc so kind of pointless. I would suggest the menus list everything on the QR cod

This is mine and my boyfriend’s first time staying at a Mitsis hotel and overall, it did not disappoint and we would highly recommend coming to this hotel. The room itself was gorgeous. We booked a superior double room with sea front view. We had a lovely balcony area and then also 2 sun loungers with an umbrella looking over to the beach. We were also in a great location for restaurants/bars/beach. We couldn’t fault the room, and the overall aesthetic was really nice. The beach and pool areas are also really lovely. The sun loungers provided are like beds and are so comfortable. There are two main infinity pools which are stunning, however do get taken up very quickly. The other pools dotted around the hotel are just as nice and are very peaceful so it’s not a shame if you don’t get a bed at the infinity pool. The beach/pools all have access to food/drink in close proximity, and at some pools, you have waiters to come and collect drink orders which was a nice touch. From reading other reviews, we were a little nervous about the food. The main buffet, I agree could be better as unless it was being freshly cooked, most of it was cold. However, we felt that the options were pretty good, and did in fact taste nice. We did however, only go to the main buffet for breakfast and lunch and therefore, cannot vouch for dinner time. The drinks wait at the buffet was pretty long which wasn’t ideal and they could do with a self service coffee machine/soft drink area to help yourself. Before arriving, we booked dinner at all 3 a la carte restaurants and also a brunch at the med. The food at the med is absolutely fantastic and we actually managed to go here for dinner 4 times and for brunch twice, as we asked the reception for extra bookings. They were great at accommodating extra bookings if requested. The staff at the med are the best without a doubt - AB, alexis, and George made the experience really nice. However, all the staff there are great. We also went to the dusk restaurant and the food was really lovely aswell, and also the den! We enjoyed both of these, however nothing beat the med for us. We had no issues with wait times/food orders/drinks at any of the restaurants, however the den in the evening (around 9:30pm onwards) can get very busy and the queue for the bar can be very long. I think extra bar staff down there would definitely be needed to make this better. The gyros on the beach and pizza at the med was also amazing! We had one pretty one every day and they were delicious! Drinks choice was good throughout the hotel. We tried near enough every cocktail on the menu - they can be very sweet so definitely can’t have too many of the same but overall they weren’t too bad. Additionally, I think there should be branded soft drinks at least at the bars instead of just in the room. We hired out a buggy from the tour staff at the hotel. It was €120 for the entire day (9 till 7:30) which was really good and we went round the entire islan

We have just spent a week at this beautiful hotel, and ahead of travelling anywhere I am a religious checker of reviews, so here is my genuine review. We booked a superior sea view room which was absolutely stunning, massive bed, really beautiful big bathroom, very modern and tastefully decorated throughout, beautiful view of the sea from our balcony, restocked mini bar daily with loads of different soft drinks, beer, wine, bottled water and coffee machine with pods stocked daily, couldn’t have asked for more. A couple of days into our stay I got an email and I got an email from Mitsis asking to submit feedback so far, I said we were enjoying our stay but any chance of a cheeky upgrade to a room with a pool, that evening I got a phone call from reception who said they had a junior suite available from the next day with a pool, we went to view it and the pool was much bigger than a plunge pool and the room was amazing, so couldn’t have been happier. The alacarte restaurants all served gorgeous table service meals, big shout out to Billy in the Den who looked after us and booked us in for an addition alacarte meal which was lovely for our last evening. Brunch at the Med is also a must. There are several pools around the resort in addition to the main infinity pools, and there is never any issue getting beds around these. There pools are also clearly new and are very modern including one additional infinity pool. Around here there is a bar and snack bar that does nice food and cocktails and there is a good cocktail choice across all the different bars. The gyros on the beach are lovely and it’s nice to be able to have food and drinks included on the beach. The pizza at the Med at lunch time is also delicious. People moan in the reviews about the all inclusive buffet but me and my partner both enjoyed it every time we went, it’s not a massive selection but this is okay because the food is completely different every day and we didn’t have a bad meal the whole time we were here. The evening entertainment was lovely every night, including live bands, DJ’s, singers, it was perfect for this type of resort. The DJs around the pool areas and beach were also a nice touch. Overall this was a really lovely stay and we Will 100% return. Also thanks to Irene on the front desk who was helpful throughout our stay.

Where to begin with this review of the delightful Mitsis Summer Palace. Check-in/Reception Team Our arrival was met with a warm welcome from the Reception team. Check-in was seamless and we were provided with information (including a map of the resort) of this gorgeous resort. The team were very attentive, noticing our 6 year old son who was travelling with us. They gave him a complimentary wooden toy set. This was a very nice touch! A member of the concierge team helped us with our luggage. Restaurants, Bars & Buffet The resort’s restaurants are all very lovely. Each one offering a unique dining experience and selection of food/drinks. Our favourite was The Den BBQ. The resorts main buffet offers a lovely selection of food. The drink offering throughout the bars of the resort is very good! For daytime relaxation, Fresco Bar is a great place to sit and have a drink. There’s gorgeous views of the island from there. Also this is next to a number of the luxury pools the resort has to offer. We had brunch at the gorgeous suspended Nests! This is well worth it if you want to add a dinning experience with a difference to your stay. They also offer a private BBQ in the Nests. Room We stayed in the Double Sea View Room which featured a gorgeous balcony. The views are spectacular. The room is equally gorgeous, light and airy with modern decor. Entertainment & Family Amenities It’s hard to fault this resort. However, there is room for improvement particularly with regard to the entertainment offering and amenities for families with children. Although the resort does have entertainment, we found it ok. The resort could improve this by having more captivating performers etc. When it comes to amenities for families with young children the resort is sadly very lacking. There does not seem to be much deigned with children in mind. Although the resort is marketed to include families it felt more like a luxurious adults only resort (even though it is not advertised as such). We made enquiries with the reception team about this and they advised that the neighbouring Mitsis sister hotels would be the best place(s) to go for child focused amenities. There is no extra charge for accessing the facilities. The resort has a shuttle service which operates between the hotel and children’s pool at (Mitsis Family Palace). This became our daytime base. The pool features slides and is great for all the family to relax. There is a bar which serves soft drinks, ice-cream and a selection of alcoholic beverages for the grown ups. The only slight criticism about this pool is that on all the occasions we were there, there was no lifeguard in sight. House keeping No holiday is complete without the housekeeping team. This is a truly lovely hotel, we couldn’t fault the experience. Gorgeous suite with a huge balcony overlooking a crystal blue Med , beds to die for promising a sound sleep, with excellent quality bedding , and high quality pillows. We slept like babies. Fabulous Al carte restaurants . Try the Octopus salad at the Med , exceptional. The restaurant is picture perfect, overlooking the med , high on the cliffs with a magnificent view . Philip who looked after us , was absolutely charming. Nothing was ever to much bother . Also lovely to start the day with brunch here . Dusk is also excellent. The Mango salad is truly one of the best salads I have ever tasted along with the salmon tarter. Plenty of choice for families too in the buffet , with a huge balcony overlooking the med . This is extremely family friendly and has something for everyone. The pools are beautiful and the infinity pools are salt water , warm , set into the cliffs with the most spectacular view ever . Straight out of a movie.. We couldn’t have enjoyed this holiday more , completely chilled with lovely attentive staff , and fellow happy guests . We will with out doubt be recommending this oasis and hopefully be returning next year . Dea is wonderful on reception along with all the staff , where they will organise anything you request.
