Tanote Villa

Was to stay for 4 nights, out after just 1! Would rather sleep under a tree than stay there again. ROOMS: broken and unlockable balcony door, barely working aircon (the cooling mode only works if on lowest fan mode, the rudest manageress showed us that with the widest eye roll), the curtains broken LOCATION: booked through Booking and it's utterly mismapped so beware if you're looking for a beach holiday. It is NOT 160ft (50 mts) from the beach, it is 1800 ft (550 mts as per Google Maps) over a steep hill. The hotel is clearly aware of this but the manageress couldn't care less telling us she didn't care what was on the Booking's website as their own was showing it fine, ha ha :) There are also 2 swimming pools, which may be appealing to first timers but be ready to leave it with your skin nearly melted of the amount of chlorium applied. Lastly, the hotel manageress is the most impolite, dismissive and attitude ridden receptionist I've ever come across. At check in, be prepared for a list of dos and dont's which straight away makes you feel school like rather than opening you to a cool holiday experience! We weren't surprised then when she refused to refund us for the remaining 3 nights giving a fake smile, we pretty much didn't care ourselves at that point as we wanted to go somewhere with good vibes and positive energy, it just showed again that she was lacking any customer service skills and they did care much more about the money than their travellers experience. Go elsewhere and enjoy the ride, there are plenty of lovely places around with actually LOVELY people in them :) you can find both at Koh Tao but you won't find it at Tanote Villa.

We loved everything about Tanote Resort. Our room with its ensuite bathroom and terrace was spacious, clean and comfortable; the swimming pools were super enjoyable and the view over the Tanote Bay and its surroundings was absolutely stunning. The staff was amazing, friendly and welcoming; most come from Myanmar in search for a more hopeful future. A very BIG THANK YOU to all of them for making out stay so special; three brilliant days; what a treat! A side note on the food served at the resort which has been criticized in some reviews. As far as we are concerned, we found breakfast and the food served in the evening excellent. Overall, this is a stay we will remember. We will be back!

We went to Tanote villa with our 3 children. The hotel is absolutely wonderful, it is great for all travellers: couples or families. A spécial thank you to Jido, who helped us organise our stay in Koh Tao, she was excellent, very nice and thoughtful, and extremely efficient, would definitely recommend this hotel! There is connecting rooms which is very nice for a family! And would love to come back again in this beautiful hotel with amazing views and a great bay for Snorkeling (beginners as well) after a 5 minutes walk in the jungle!

Overall our experience at the hotel was very average. The pool and grounds of the property are beautiful with a lovely path to the beach. However our AC unit did not cool down our room making for a very uncomfortable stay. The bathroom is outdated with luke warm water and the restaurant was little to be desired. This property is also out of the way from the main town with expensive taxis in and out and nothing within walkable reach.

During our stay at the Island of Koh Tao in July 2022, my partner and me have spent a wonderful time in Tanote Villa Hill. The resort offers: A beautiful setting among lush tropical nature. A quiet and peaceful ambiance. 2 wonderful pools. Great seaviews. Large rooms with nice décoration. Big and comfortable beds. Kind and helpful employees. My special thanks are going to the Lady Manager of Tanote Villa Hill. During my time in Koh Tao I had to face some difficulties. My problemes have been solved thanks to her wish to help me and du to her capacities in termes of dialog and negotiation. I keep excellent memories of my stay in Tanote Villa Hill and would love to stay again at this beautiful resort.

Notre chambre (2 ieme étage) avait une splendide vue mer. Elle était très grande, confortable et très propre (ménage fait tous les jours) avec une bonne literie. Le personnel est très agréable. Le petit déjeuner en buffet avec du choix est bon. Cet hôtel a deux piscines équipées de transats et parasols. Des piscines, il y a une vue imprenable sur la mer et la jungle. Par un petit chemin bien agencé dans la jungle et non dangereux (à environ 10 minutes de marche), vous pouvez de l’hôtel aller à la plage de la baie Tanote. Cette baie Tanote est un jardin de coraux magnifique d’un état de conservation exceptionnelle avec de multiples poissons (Attention de ne pas abimer les coraux avec les palmes). Important, conseil de plongeur concernant cette baie Tanote, il est important de se munir de chaussures aquatiques ou de chaussons de plongée pour palmes, car des petits coraux morts qui sont mélangés au sable sont très tranchants. Dans ce pays, une plaie peut s’infecter très rapidement et peut devenir un gros problème. Sur la plage de cette baie Tanote, Il y a un club de plongée qui propose des sorties plongée bouteille ou snorkeling. Sur cette plage, il y a des petits restaurants (les pieds dans le sable et au bord de la mer) qui servent pour pas trop cher de la bonne cuisine thaïlandaise.
