We stayed in Pool Villa 4 for 2 weeks for our honeymoon. The outdoor area, including the pool, is gorgeous- you have totally uninterrupted views of the sea. It is incredibly romantic and private. The staff at View Point are wonderful- everyone was lovely and couldn’t do enough to help- they really make the hotel special. We loved pre-ordering our breakfast and having this delivered to our room every morning. We also paid for the honeymoon package, which was pricey, but meant we had a special welcome, a couples massage, private candlelit dinner at their restaurant and a private longboat trip- all of which were fantastic. It’s only a short walk into Chalok Bay where you have lots of options, and theres a little shop just outside if you need anything. The hotel will also arrange motorbikes, kayaks, taxis etc if needed. There is some walking to do around the resort but this is to be expected when you are built into the side of a cliff, and this didn’t bother us at all! I’ve found it really hard to write this part of the review as there was so much we loved about View Point and it was a very special trip for us. However, it’s important to be honest, and as has been mentioned in other reviews, you are at one with nature during your stay. Sometimes, that is lovely, and we saw lots of butterflies, caterpillars, crabs, cats, birds and chinchillas. However, during our stay, we saw 3 very large spiders. The toilet is outdoors, and we saw the first two there, which we had expected. However, 3 nights before we left, there was a spider the size of my fist on the ceiling in our bedroom, which we have never experienced in a room in all my times of visiting Thailand (and we have stayed in much, much cheaper places). The staff, as always, were incredible, and as the whole hotel was fully booked, they scared the spider off, then checked the room and re-cleaned it for us, even though it was late in the evening. However, the rooms themselves are not practically designed to keep nature out of where you are sleeping eg gaps between doors, in the roof etc. We were so careful during our visit to make sure the doors were always closed behind us in the bedroom, but we still had this unwanted eight legged visitor. We also did not use the second room with the TV, due to large gaps between the roof and wall, meaning any creature could enter at any time. Whilst the villa is beautiful, and built in nature, some of the design is just not practical, and some aspects would need to be changed for us to stay again- for the price paid you should be able to sleep anxiety free, but we spent our final 3 nights with the lights on. If this doesn’t bother you, you will have no problem at all.
