Utopia Resort

Really nice cabins directly to the beach with the best Staff ever. Liked everyone there and felt really welcome as a Lone traveller. Would always book it again too. ++ You have a Open Restaurant with good WiFi, so good for working!

Очень удобные виллы, чисто комфортно и есть все необходимое. Большие окна, много света, есть милая веранда для посиделок, просторно. Первая линя свой пляж. Рядом есть кафе и рестораны магазины, оживления улица - вся тусовка рядом.

Basic beach resort in an excellent position in Lamai. Close to the street market and shops, restaurant's and bars. The resort is a little tired, but the rooms in the new building are better and more modern. The double pool view room was large with a comfy bed and we even had a smart TV to watch Netflix on the nights we stayed in. The reception is very old and run down, and the restaurant needs an upgrade. The cleaning was not up to standard, unfortunately, so that really let this place down. The sunbeds are all squashed in together on the beach, and there's constant loud music from a beach club next door. There's a small pool which is a bonus and the staff were very friendly. It's a cheap and cheerful place, however the cleaning needs to be improved. The plus point is it's location and the price.

We have been there for the fifth time over Xmas/New Year 2024/5. The whole ressort can be summarized under one titej: Home away from home! This family run place offers nice bungalows in a sceenic surrounding to a fair price. Included is a heartly friendly service, nice relaxed people (even amongst most of the customers from all over the world) and a location from which you can reach all the marvelous restaurants and bars in Lamai within 5 minutes. It has the laid back thai atmosphere, which I fell in love with while backpacking in the beginning of the 1990s. Each time I leave the Utopia, I have a little tear in my eyes. It is sooo beautifull there and all the people working there (for ages, which does mean something in those changeble times) are such sweethearts. If God allows me, we definitely will be back soon! Thank you all for such wonderfull 3 weeks. We love you!!! 🐺 PS: You might have read in previous posts, that the sanitary venues in some bungalows definitely need renovation. This is correct (and will be done soon, so I have been told). It has the charme of the 1990s. Fine with me, but if you are looking for a posch upscale place to stay, Utopia is not your thing. If you are looking for a relaxed, friendly and just lovely place, it is! Pls book early, cause they are usually packed. It must not just be me, who loves this place. 🐺

It’s a nice simple accommodation w the best location in Lamai. The bungalows are old but everything works, good size, comfy bed, good hot water, good aircon and a stand up fan. It gets serveiced everyday w free 2 bottles of water daily. It’s beachfront w lovely sun beds on the best area and next to fancy resorts that play cool lounge music during the day. There is also massages available and a beachfront restaurant. It’s just perfect!

This was our second stay at Utopia, with correctly set expectation, this hotel is great. The main asset is the location - on the beach and right in centre of Lamai, most things are walkable distance, only a short distance from Lamai Night market, Lotus/Tesco and many shops and restaurants. The cleanliness of the hotel and cleaning efficiency of the staff has a lot to wish for. The cleaning staff does not speak English and the quality of the cleaning is super basic (sand on the room floor for all 9 days of the stay, bed sheets never changed, roaches in the bathroom). Breakfast for 200b super basic, better to walk to the local french bakery and have amazing set breakfast for 150b. Our children appreciated the pool so that is definitely a bonus.
