The owner asked us to pay via bank transfer, but she said herself that it might go wrong. Well, it did go wrong, because my bank would not accept her personal details as a payee, only the name of the business (Klinci Village Resort). Her bank held on to our payment for 11 days before rejecting it, and when the funds were returned only 31 Euros from our payment of 200 Euros was refunded. The owner apologised, and she initially said she would take it off our bill. Then a few days later she said that the fault was with our bank (which of course our bank denies), she then cancelled our booking without warning. After the cancellation she asked for our bank details so that she could refund us the missing 169 Euros, but once we provided them she never made the refund. Long story short we have lost 169 Euros trying to make a booking which the host cancelled without giving us a reason. We should have known better than to agree to paying by internet transfer, it's much riskier than a card payment because there is no recourse with the banks if anything goes wrong. But what is truly disappointing is the attitude of the host: we were always polite and obliging during these difficulties, and we were willing to try and work out a solution, but she simply cancelled the booking - despite first telling us that she would simply take the missing amount of our bill. Then she told us she would refund the payment (of her own accord), and never did. So she lied to us twice, and didn't keep her promises, despite never getting any trouble from us at all. She seems very erratic, unprofessional, and unreliable.
