This place is magical, the view is precious, the staff is kind and aveilable and the rooms are pretty and clean. There are also lots of cats, Kiss is the most friendly and he loves to be stroked. We chose the option with breakfast and we all agree that the food was delicious. The hotel offers also a little trip in Balos Lagoon, a beautiful spot that you have to see. Thank you so much Balos Beach Hotel.

False advertising: there is no beach at this hotel. There is a sewage pipe leading directly to the “beach” which is just rubbish and rocks, a “beach” completely inaccessible even with proper shoes. The staff who serve us are very polite and friendly, but the manager and the guy at reception who greeted us were very unfriendly, bordering on rude, and were not even able to explain that there were beaches 10 minutes away by car that look like paradise (with white sand and clear sea, like Falassarna). In 10 days in Crete, this was the worst experience, on all levels.

We had the most wonderful 2 night stay at Balos Beach Hotel. Off the beaten track through olive groves and a very small village you wind your way to the hotel. We were slightly concerned on arrival about the road works right outside the hotel, but without even having to mention it the lovely lady on reception informed us we had been upgraded due to any inconvenience… the room was stunning. Private infinity pool and glorious sea view. Didn’t even notice any of the work on the road at the opposite side of the hotel. It was only just the start of season so the hotel was quiet but the staff couldn’t be more helpful. The food in the restaurant is pretty standard. Nice enough but nothing special. But 10 min walk down the road to the village had a small selection of tavernas. Which was lovely for a night out. We got up early one morning and drove to Balos beach for sunrise. Beautiful! Glad we did it before the crowds as the road is not for the feint hearted. It’s 25 min very slow going but scenic drive. Watch out for the goats! :) Would definitely recommend and will definitely return.

We booked for 2 nights for 2 adults and one kid, when we arrived in the room the third bed was missing so after asking they put a bed. Main problem was that they are still building up the hotel and builders were working literally above our heads starting 8am in the morning also on sunday! Unbelievable!

We had a great a time at the hotel!! The rooms were excellent and staff behaviour was amazing! We took the transfer to Balos Lagoon and the driver was very kind and helpful since we couldn’t take our rented car to the beach due to road conditions and fines that car rentals are putting into action. We are definitely coming back this summer!

Amazing beach!! The water was so clear and clean. There are no facilities on the beach. Take umbrellas and lots of water and packed lunch. Its a huge place. It was very busy when we got there. Many families young people enjoying themselves. I absolutely loved it.

We took a boat tour from Kisamos to Gramouvsa and then from the latter to Balos Beach. Both Gramouvsa & Balos had relatively warm water, but the area had Too many rocks. I had to be extra careful not hurt myself. but WAY It was like traversing a cave!
