The Star Hotel belies its Victorian exterior and has been completely refurbished inside from top to bottom. Easy access to the bedrooms is via a quiet lift and wide corridors. Double glazed windows,thick curtains and a comfortable bed and pillows provide the requirements for a good nights sleep. The temperature of the room radiator is easly set,with a heated towel rail in the bathroom which has a large walk in shower. Decor throughout is modern with neutral colours with comfortable seating in the foyer, dining room and the Wolf bar. Food is freshly prepared using local produce. The friendly staff and the welcoming room facilities including fresh milk in the small fridge set you up for a relaxing stay.

Had a lovely meal at the Star Hotel. Food was lovely and staff very helpful and friendly. The hotel has been refurbished and is stylish and looks fantastic. We were shown some of the rooms which are stunning. There are 2 bars- one which joins onto the restaurant which is quieter and very nice to sit and relax and also a sports bar which is more of a traditional pub showing football. Will definitely be back and maybe for an overnight stay next time we are up here (considering we have a caravan only a few miles away this shows how impressed we were!)

We were looking for accommodation in the kingussie area and after reading good reviews decided to book a room at the Star Hotel. We were not disappointed. The hotel was lovely. As were the rooms. Don't know what they were like before but they have been renovated and they were spotless and modern. We had a king size room with a little shelf top fridge supplied with fresh milk and bottled water. We thought that was a nice touch. We asked if we could have a room with a view and they were only too willing to oblige. We especially liked the bathroom with its walk in rain shower. We had an evening meal in the hotels Jacobite restaurant which we enjoyed. Full Scottish breakfast was also very good and tasty and set us up for the day. Staff were all Friendly and very accommodating. Would not hesitate to go back to this hotel if staying in the area again.

This is a real find. Everything is good from the staff, to the rooms and the restaurant. The hotel has been nicely maintained to a high level. Value for money it is excellent. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and having stayed in the area before (especially Aviemore) we will make this our first choice in the future.

The best part of our stay was the Hotel itself, the quality of service was Brilliant and our needs were met on high standards. The staff were very helpful and informative. This was our first time to Kingussie and we liked the charm of this quaint little village! The rooms were clean, modern and spacious. Little touches like a mini fridge for fresh milk in the room was very thoughtful. The Restaurant produced some great dishes, we ate at the hotel the first evening and it was absolutely Awesome, I had sea bass and my husband had steak. Both of our dishes were absolutely delicious and wished I could steal the recipe from the chef for my sea bass dish!, In addition to that, Breakfast was fantastic. The spread was just unbelievable and we enjoyed the breakfast both the days of our stay at the hotel. Overall, a wonderful experience for us as a couple, I highly recommend this hotel if anyone is visiting Kingussie!

That was the best pizza I've ever eaten in Scotland!! Thin and crispy. Delicious ingredients! The service was really kind. That bar is in very good condition. Absolutely love it!! Even the price is really good. Thank you so much for that experience.

Hard to fault our experience at the Star Hotel. Starting from the very friendly welcome that we got on arrival. Staff very friendly and helpful, food at dinner was exceptional, breakfasts also 10/10. The rooms and the whole hotel have clearly been very recently refurbished. Very clean, tidy and bright. Overall tremendous value for money.

Went with family for a meal. Very overpriced . Prawn cocktail was £10 each for not a lot of prawns , a lettuce leaf and small amount of sauce. Mains were overpriced and dessert was very poor. Girl serving was very pleasant and polite. Will not hurry back .
