The Kilchrenan Inn

I stayed at the Kilchrenan Inn for two nights at the end of a solo Scotland road trip, and what a great way to round off the trip. It's in a lovely, peaceful location and, on arrival, I received a very warm welcome. My room was lovely: spacious, stylish, cosy and comfortable, and with a great view from the bed. The bar and restaurant were fantastic too. Really nice food, service again was really friendly and a great atmosphere. Given the remote location of the place, I was surprised how many people there were in the bar and restaurant. Also, as a solo traveller, I felt at ease being there. One evening I sat at the bar and chatted to a couple of really friendly locals, and the people working there were always happy to chat too. Two brilliant breakfasts during my stay as well. Can't wait to stay again!

Our only mistake was staying just one night on our way to catch the ferry to Craignure. Everything about the inn is just right, super friendly staff, cosy rooms and the tastiest food in the evening and at breakfast. Already looking forward to coming back next Summer.

We ate here whilst staying at a local hotel, and I’m so glad we did. We originally walked down for a few drinks. After a nearly two hour walk to get there, I was more than ready to sit down I can tell you. The thought of walking back wasn’t very appealing. After a couple drinks and getting to know the locals, a very kind lady offered to drop us back at our hotel. These are the kind of people who live near by, and frequent this hotel and bar restaurant, amazing! We enjoyed our afternoon so much we booked to go back on the Sunday for food and yet more drinks! Wow, the food here is out of this world & great value. The staff are really friendly, I’d think I’d died and gone to heaven if this place was my local!! We have every intention of returning and doing it all again!

Second night out dining in our holiday and another recommendation but unlike last nights this was amazing. After a 20 minute drive down a road most F1 drivers would call delightful we arrived at the Inn. Upon entering we found a warm welcome with incredibly friendly service. Our table was ready promptly and our lovely evening began. We selected our starters and mains and begin to talk over dinner. Starters arrived in about 15 minutes and they were amazing. I had the muscles which we healthy in portion size and truly delicious. My wife opted for the crab which she also raved about. After a perfect amount of time our mains arrived and I had opted for the naughty burger option as I had eaten rather healthy for the last few days. Once again a beautifully home made burger with fresh cooked home fries with the perfect relish. My partner in crime had opted for the plaice which she also loved. We really enjoyed these courses and enjoyed the lovely atmosphere. As we are on holiday we just had to go for a dessert so one chocolate torte and triple layer we were totally satisfied. Excellent food, amazing service all in a delightful atmosphere. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great place to dine.

Stopped for a couple of drinks. Lovely pub, great atmosphere. Super Guinness. Will definitely return for food when we're back I the summer. The menu looked good. Nice selection of beers on tap, and good choice of wine. Very dog friendly in the bar area too.

Say no more. If you are staying in the Oban region not not miss this gem of an inn! The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The Pub and restaurant are classic Scottish with an outstanding quality of menu selections. The Rabbit tarragon pie may be the best entree I have ever had! A huge shout out to Triston and Dougie for their impeccable service in the restaurant and Pub. They are knowledgeable, friendly and they made our experience great fun. Do not miss staying here.
