Coconut Bay Resort - Key Largo

What a lovely place! We stayed in #4. Clean and in great shape. Sitting outside our place was peaceful with a great view. The staff was helpful but not intrusive. It’s a quiet getaway spot, close to many restaurants and stores. The pool was a place for a nice break.

Lovely location and good sized chalets. Lots of kayaks to use for free. owners were welcoming. Nice scones and iced coffee. we would definatley use this location again. only issue was blinds don't fully cover windows and a bit noisy from next door

This resort is gorgeous, with phenomenal landscaping, adorable updated and very clean cottages right on the bay. The included kayaks, paddleboards, on-property dock, lounging areas, and included homemade scones are wonderful amenities. Daily housekeeping service is also included and they are generous with towels. We are FL locals who come to the Keys often and thought we had discovered a hidden gem that was too good to be true. Turns out we were right. We paid $1500+ for 3 nights in a 4-person cottage. They charged an additional $85 at check-in for our 5 and 14-year-olds. Not an issue. About an hour after arrival, they were pounding on our door because we had parked in the wrong spot. Oops, sorry! That night, as my husband and I were relaxing by the beach area around 10pm, we were told to move our (personal) paddleboard paddle up to our patio. Again, no big deal. On our third night, my Keys-local friend visited. She and I were sitting on our "private" patio chatting at around 11 pm, when the owner's son entered the patio and started interrogating her as to whether she drives a red Honda. She told him 3 times that she does not, that she had walked over. He told her that guests are not permitted and that she must leave immediately, then stood there until we got up. She's very involved in the community and told him she'd like to support their business but felt this was a poor way to treat Guests or Locals. He told her he didn't care who she was, that she needed to leave now. He told me that if I wanted to see her, I should go to her house. My 5 year old was sleeping inside, which was why she came to me. In the ******* listing, it says that only registered guests are allowed in the guestrooms. It does not state that they are not allowed to step foot on the property. We were initially ecstatic to find this property but will now never stay here again. It is disturbing that every move is being watched. The interrogation was unacceptable and I was humiliated, having to escort a friend off the property . It is certainly not the Keys vibe that we are accustomed to.

As a very long time keys resident, I’m disgusted! Beyond disgusted! This is a small, side of the road wanna be big resort! It’s a sliver of real life in the keys! Big price for a tiny piece of paradise! The manager or owner continually invades your privacy by walking onto your paid for porch or the dock you are fishing on to tell you you’re doing it wrong! The so called rules of the owner are completely unclear and only told to you when your doing it wrong. Very very stuffy!!!!!!! I have no use for this place! It does not represent the keys in any way at all! I stand by that statement in every way. Don’t be fooled by the hype of the pretty sliver of space! Stay anywhere else!

My sister and I stayed here 3 years ago and couldn’t wait to come back. we had an amazing girls vacation! We absolutely love it here , it’s a tropical paradise in key largo. The beautiful flowers and unique plants and tress are amazing, we love to walk around the property and check out all the plants and the lizards of course! This resort is one of the most spectacular places I have been to, and I have traveled a lot in the carribean. Pegs scones are amazing!!! The whole staff makes you feel like family. We had a great time kayaking and paddle boarding, we saw manatees on several occasions. We can’t wait to come back !

Coconut bay is a lovely small friendly resort on Key Largo. The staff are very friendly and helpful especially Alexandria? from Tennessee who booked us in she was really helpful and gave us some really good advice on the local area and was funny telling us about Stanley the lonesome pine on seven mile bridge. The use of the canoes is a great idea and sitting on the beach front at any time is so relaxing. We enjoyed it so much way stayed again on our return from Key Largo. Pegs scones and coffee are a great way to start the day.
