Royal Hotel Kettering

Horrid hell hole. Avoid.Not a hotel,no TV remote,no sink plug.Dirty torn carpet,no food,no drinks,it really is a dump. On arrival,car park was closed,spent 20 mins trying to street park. Never stay again,felt dirty and horrid when I left.

sorry to leave a bad review. room, clean, spotless bedding, heating worked, hot shower, thats the good bit. hotel dated. funny smell? buckets on 2 nd floor for water collection from ceiling which looks like it is about to fall down. car park not available because deemed unsafe!! other customers arived in the room next to me at 2.30am ish (3 male voices, i think) was so loud!!!! banging, loud voices, sounded like guns going off??? sounded like they were wreaking the room? this went on until 5am. I was up at 7am for parkrun. felt un safe. If this had been a four in a bed stay i would put nothing in the envelope as payment.

As soon as i walked in i knew that something was wrong the place was just about closed down. Dining room closed so no meals or breakfast when i got into my room it was boiling hot i could never sleep in there so i asked for a change the next room was still a bit warm so lucky if i got 4 hours sleep. Never again

Lovely old building, could do with a revamp,but the room was clean and the bed linen was spotless. Would stay again when in the area. Gated parking which was a bonus,also the staff were polite and helpful. Good location for the centre of town and pubs.

I have worked in hotels before and I know what it is to feel in a hotel environment but this to me isn't a hotel, not even a lodging house but something else. I did not know that they do not service the rooms so I went ahead and asked and I was told that to service the room is £15 and you have to make arrangments yourself. Had to ask for condiments and shower gel which 1 kind gentleman put everything I asked in a small box. The bedroom was absolutely dirty and wires were handing from the wall even near my child's bed we had to move the bed. Bathroom had a bad smell and not cleaned properly. Shower was just dripping with very little water. On check out the receptionist run upstairs and to my surprise she came back holding the key in the air shouting "this room needs deep cleaning" I asked if it is because we left the bin full, which we did not know where to empty the rubbish or what? the lady carried on saying nasty things to me infront of my child and I completely lost it. I usually don't raise my voice but she made me go absolutely mad!! I almost called the police because she kinda sounded racist just because we are of different colour and she is possibly western European. The English lady however went upsatirs and came back with "the room is fine" I could not beleive the drama. We had ignored the comments since we were once hoteliers but we regret dearly. We travel a lot but have never ever ever seen a hotel where you deposit some money incase you break something. I was expecting to find silver and gold in the room that is why we had to leave a deposit but oh dear!! Some other guests stayed up all night and the curtain revealed some other guests playing games on TV and shouting all night. Couldn't sleep. This is a warning to anyone wanting to use this hotel. Just expect anything! I think we got our refund but this was not our desire. We would have loved to stay in a decent place. For anyone replying to this, please do not be sorry, we do not need it thank you.

I went to go into my bed in the royal hotel in Kettering and there was POO in my bed. Absolutely disgusting and vile. I have sent now 5 emails to the company with a bunch of pictures of the evidence in this vile hotel. It should be called the vulgar hotel not the royal hotel. Pictures aren’t way the way they seem. There’s mould on the bath, wouldn’t even let me have a glass of water when I felt panicky and worried. There is also rubbish under the bed (not cleaned properly at all) and no cutlery and the staff were very rude and made me feel unwelcome. Feels like a prison more than a hotel. Had to use a towel to cover the window, no privacy in the bathroom, when using the toilet. Not only that there was plug sockets with mould and coming out of the wall.
