Dorchester House

Perfect location for us. Lovely big clean family room. Nice hot showers with good water pressure. Comfy beds. Perfectly cooked breakfast. First time staying in the lakes for us but the central location is ideal and the family room is plenty big enough for 4.

This was the 3rd time my group of friends have stayed at “The Dorchester” (as we’ve christened it ) & we’ve already booked for 2026! Lorraine & Simon are THE most friendly & accommodating hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms, all immaculately presented, comprise a selection of triple/family, twin/double, & singles, making it very easy to accommodate my group of 12. The breakfasts were delicious with loads of choice. The location is perfect, within a 5 minute walk of the Main Street, yet in a really quiet part of town .

A perfect stay: clean rooms and bathroom, well equipped, comfortable, welcoming, lovely hosts, great breakfast, perfect location, comfy beds, great selection of books and walking guides, what’s not to love? We’ve visited twice now and will definitely be going back.

Stayed here for a couple of nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Ann and Dennis are perfect hosts, calling everyone by their first names which is nice. I had booked single occupancy but still had a double bed. Breakfast was spot on and delivered right on time at 8.30 If you’re reading this after October then Ann and Dennis will no longer be there as they’re retiring. The only real niggle is that it’s on street parking but I managed to find a spot a minute away. Would definitely give it full marks and great value.

The Dorchester House is run by a lovely and friendly couple. They will do everything to make you feel at home and be happy to assist you while you plan your visit to Keswick and the Lakes. Located in the town centre, the place is an elegant and clean two-storey building with a posh vibe. Every single detail is carefully taken care of. The rooms are large, quiet, bright and comfortable, with stunning views on the surroundings. Amazing coffee facilities. Breakfast is served in a picturesque dining room, while relaxing music plays. It includes a variety of options, from the traditional lakeland breakfast to porridge, cereals, fruit and plenty of home-made jellies and marmalades. They also sell marmalades and second-hand books for a ridicolously cheap price, and proceeds go to local charities. Booked three nights here and it was definitely worth it.

I have just returned from a weekend staying at Dorchester house with my mum. Lorraine was so welcoming when we arrived, the rooms were all spotless and the beds are so comfy. We slept really well, we couldn't hear any noise from any of the other guests. The breakfast was divine, I had the organic porridge with banoffee toppings and my mum had both the vegetarian breakfast and the blueberry porridge too which are also great choices. When we returned to our rooms on the second day Lorraine had left out homemade cake for all of the guests specially wrapped for each room which was such a lovely addition to our stay. The B&B is in a fantastic location, 5 minute walk and you're in the centre of Keswick town. I will most definitely look at returning here next time i'm coming to Keswick as it was such a great experience and we were left very impressed. Many thanks for such a lovely stay.
