My partner and I came to stay for a spa break and really enjoyed our stay, but the hotel could benefit from a few tweaks. Pros: - Gorgeous facilities and decor. The restaurants and spa were just fantastic and the ambience was very special - felt very modern Scottish country hotel. - Pricing of the stay and food and drinks were fair and reasonable for quality. Cons: - The temperature in the hotel was very warm, and this meant the rooms were hot and despite air con we couldn’t seem to bring the temperature down enough and it meant we didn’t sleep well. - The pillows on the bed in the rooms were awful - no shape and flat.

Loved staying here. It’s a beautiful location and the hotel is in a lovely park, including the golf course. My room was lovely and well equipped. Breakfast was excellent and I enjoyed drinks and snacks in the bar. Staff were friendly and helpful

For this price point the service offered has a lot to be desired!! Incredibly slow service at Charlies - over 40 mins for drinks to be served despite the restaurant not be particularly busy. Food was nice but nothing special and below what you would expect for £55 steak. Whiskey Bar however had great service and the young server was fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful on recommendations etc. Spa - The Spa itself is clean, however the Child Pool times are not enforced resulting in kids jumping about the pool & also the use of phones in the spa needs to be restricted.

The food in both Charlie’s and Sunlaws restaurants was excellent. The former is bistro and the latter fine dining. Dish presentation, flavours and service could not be faulted. Hotel room was well equipped, very good shower in what is quite a small bathroom. Comfortable bed, good linen, decent size TV and channel choice. The grounds are beautiful when you approach up a very long driveway. Lodges are located in the grounds. Well worth a visit! Claudio and the team do a really good job!

Following a visit during October 2023 we were offered a nights complimentary stay as we had experienced teething issues in the new lodges. What brilliant customer service and responsiveness. Our stay was first class and extremely memorable. The quality of the rooms, facilities and food was "top notch". However what impressed us the most was the attitude and attentiveness of all the staff we interacted with. It is clear the hotel has been making some big changes during a challenging economic environment but we were most impressed with the results and clear focus on customer and guest experience. There are many hotels which claim to be fog friendly but this one means it and whilst there are areas which the dogs are (rightly) excluded there is an attitude and understanding that the dogs matter and are welcomed in specific bars and restaurants. Finally we wish to recognise the gesture that was made by offering a complimentary stay following our feedback. It would have been understandable and probably easier to give us a standard response and reassurance but this hotel and its manager went the extra mile.

I love this hotel, 5 star luxury! One of the best in Scotland! The spa is first class, service and staff first class, i recomnend it to friends and family all the time!, i honestly cannot wait to return! Next visir soon i hope!

The rooms were amazing and the beds so so comfy. The whole of the hotel was very clean and the staff would bend over backwards to help you in any way. Cannot wait for another visit.

Excellent accommodation and food was superb in the restaurant. First class service from front of house and reception.
