Honest review. The hotel is lovely, but not 5 stars. The location isn’t great - it’s in a very deprived area and there is not much around at all. Few shops and bars. We walked to the aquarium (20 mins walk ) and heard shooting the whole way from what must be an army practice area? And walked passed families with children sleeping on the side of the roads in their cars. Didn’t feel safe really with our own 3 kids. The aquarium is good if you have children. The staff are amazing, very friendly. The pools are amazing and are also always clean. Slightly weird that the splash park didn’t open until 11am. There is a constant wiff of sewers no matter where you are in the hotel! The food is average - very repetitive and random. The desserts are delicious. The gyros are also very good. The Asian restaurant on site was worth it. We booked as soon as we got there as it got booked up fast. The drinks are Greek own brand and are drinkable if you hold your nose. The cocktails are good. We booked a family room - The second bedroom had no windows so was very dark and dingy with one tiny light. Nice size rooms though and always clean. The beach is gorgeous - 10 euros for 2 chairs and an umbrella. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but wouldn’t go back.

Went in August when it was 30 odd degrees (celcius). Was pretty warm but we had a swim up room, which we constantly used. The pools outside were really nice, the ones that weren’t private were usually pretty crowded. The path outside was often pretty warm, so I definitely recommend bringing some flip flops to easily slide into. There were some things that uou needed extra euros for like bottles of water and plug converters. The Heraklion airport was only 15 minutes away directly via coach. The room was nice and the mini fridge was regularly restocked. The slides outside were really fun and enjoyable. The evening entertainment was good too. The kids waterpark was really nice, with a stall next to it selling delicious ice creams and nice lattes too. The food in the main restaurant was nice, although plain eaters would probably struggle to have a full meal there, we enjoyed it though. As usual in an all-inclusive, the food does get a bit repetitive after a while, but there were always a couple of new things. The one con about the main restaurant was…. The. Chairs. I can’t even explain how loud the squeaks were on the floor, and it was constant. But, if you sat outside it wasn’t so bad. The other two restaurants were also ok. The Greek one called Smile was nice but certainly different to a ‘typical restaurant’. It bought out all the food on the menu for you to try. Again, certainly not the best for picky eaters, although we still enjoyed it. The Asian restaurant was good. They give you a bowl of rice with each main course, and the food itself was flavourful and tasty. The staff at this hotel were always really friendly and approachable. Thank you ☺️!

We had a great holiday staying at Gouves Waterpark, the hotel and park was very clean and the food and drink was excellent. The swimming pools and slides were great and accommodation was clean and comfy. Our only complaint was that as we were staying over October half term the park was winding down for season close, this meant that activities and facilities were stopping/closing towards the end of the week and on our last day the slides and food huts not operating. Whilst we appreciate the park needs to prepare for closing, it was a little disappointing that we didn’t get the full experience of the resort as advertised. We would definitely recommend staying at Gouves Waterpark, but to bear the above in mind if staying at the end of the season.

We stayed recently in a swim up room (family of four (2 teenage boys!) place was immaculately clean, food was for all with plenty of snacks for the children. Great weather, end of season so places outside the resort had closed but that doesn’t reflect on the complex. Previous reviews eluded to watered down alcohol- that is Not the case at all. Staff were constantly friendly and available. Looking to book again next year already.

A great family stay, we were a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 children). Plenty of vegetarian choices and my kids loved the ice cream! The staff are what make the place great especially Maria and the gentleman who worked at the pizzeria. Always service with a smile. Only reason for the 4 stars is we went end of season so entertainment closed early. Although the animation team were fantastic and worked so hard. Also adult entertainment was not the best. We stayed in the family room and it was quite outdated. However a great stay for all ages and child friendly.

Lovely safe and clean resort in Crete. Amazing food and desserts! Had lovely choices of vegetarian meals - lunch and dinner. Perfect get away for families with kids irrespective of ages. 10 min away from the seaside which was a bonus as well.

Fantastic friendly staff, 5* rating for cleanliness. Great resort for all ages. Had a fantastic time away. 5 minutes walk from an amazing beach. Sea was lovely,clear and clean beautiful night walks. Rooms cleaned everyday and complimentary drinks in your fridge and restocked regularly.

Visited for October Half Term 2024. (Pretty much last werk before end of season). 3 generations holiday- including 18month old and 5 yr old. We all had a fantastic holiday. We got a family suite for our family of 4 and we upgraded my in-laws to a swim-up maisonette. Both rooms were spacious, immaculate and modern. I would recommend upgrading if you can to the swim up— as it was very special (although please note swim up is not private - shared with perhaps 7/8 other rooms. But still feels exclusive and secluded. Slides and waterparks are all GREAT for the kids. My 18month old loved the splash park and the additional smallet splash park. My 5 year old went up and down the main flumes non stop. Complex always felt very safe and the flume pool had lifeguards. Pools immaculate and clean and look beautiful at night. Food- we found the food tasty and never cold (which some othet reviewers have said). We got something dofferent every night. For an all inclusive - no complaints. Best part was the ICE CREAM shack — 11-6 ice cream. My 5 year old just ran up on his own non stop. Only reasons ive only give 4 star and not 5 was;: 1. All inclusive alcoholic drinks are very wateted down! To the point im pretty sure the beer on tap is 0%. 2. Entertainment at night was great for kids but nothing much for adults. Would have been nice to have a pool side music act it live band

We have recently returned from a 10 day stay. I can honestly say that nothing disappointed us. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, it was immaculately clean and the food was great! Plenty of entertainment for the kids and adults both during the day and on an evening. A special mention to Maria who we met at the Poseidon bar. Maria was very welcoming and generally a lovely lady, thank you! She took great pride in her work and the bar was immaculate. This was our first visit to Crete and we would love to return.
