The Sparkling Turtle Backpackers Hostel

That place felt like home. The owner and his family were incredibly friendly. And services are very good! Everything is very clean, and the environment is very peaceful. If anyone is visiting for work or exam, sparkling will be a perfect stay! This place is also affordable.

Me and my sister had a wonderful time at the Sparkling Turtle! The host, Ajeet, was very welcoming and the hostel was nice and clean. The location was also very good, getting a super pretty view of the city and mountains. Will definitely stay there again when we come back ☺️

The ambience of the place is very nice, the view from the balcony is the best and the rooms and bathrooms are also very neat and clean, the beds and pillows are very comfy, i had a very good experience of my stay at the sparkling turtle and i would recommend everyone to visit this place

They helped me plan my trip, arranged a scooter and bike for exploring, and shared great tips about the city’s hidden spots and local culture. It made my adventure so much easier and more enjoyable. I also learned about the turtle’s symbolism in Nepali culture. The host explained how the turtle represents safety, stability, and grounding – qualities that perfectly reflect the peaceful and welcoming vibe of the hotel. It was fascinating to see how this cultural meaning was woven into the hotel’s theme. I highly recommend The Sparkling Turtle Hotel to anyone visiting the area. Lovely family run hostel away from overstimulating Thamel. Perfect home base for the chill traveler. It’s up on a hill so there’s always a beautiful view of the entire city. You can also walk to the famous monkey temple from here. Adjeet and his family are so sweet and welcoming. Plus dinner is always incredible. This truly became our home in Kathmandu. We ended up going back two times after our initial stay. If you are in Kathmandu for a trek this is the perfect hostel to stay at before and after your trek. It feels more like a homestay than a hostel ❤️
