We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by the owners which was nice. We were told our room might not be ready yet which was surprising given that we had been delayed by nearly 2 hours. We were helped up to our room but the cleaner was still inside. Would’ve expected it to be ready in advance of us arriving. The room itself is basic but comfortable. We were put in room 204 which is named in a lot of the other negative reviews. Some of the faults mentioned in other reviews had been fixed such as the shower tray, appeared the shower had recently been improved. There were other faults with the room still such as a plug socket coming away from the wall by the tv and the toilet was full of lime scale which gave off a smell. A bit of bleach may sort that. There were a couple of cups and plates provided and some basic cutlery, no bottle opener included which would’ve been nice given you can take your own drinks to the room but not near the pool. I understand why this is but then had to make do with opening bottles with the back of a spoon. We were told that we had some additional charges to pay for which included air con (€15 a day) and travel cot at (€10 a day). I wasn’t aware of these charges and the owner advised this was because of Jet2. It isn’t Jet2 charging the money though. I raised concerns with the local Jet2 rep who seemed disappointed with the charges and felt that they were above average for the area. He contacted the hotel who agreed to reduce the price of the cot from a total of €70 to €50. However air con remained the same price. I think having to pay for sleeping arrangements for a baby is disgusting. The hotels website nowhere mentions that there are charges for air con and doesn’t even mention cots and you would expect this to be part of the sleeping arrangements. You wouldn’t be charged extra for a bed. Worth noting too that the air con leaks onto the balcony and there is a plastic bottle you have to put under it and empty when it gets full. This wasn’t mentioned to us and you don’t expect to be having to do that if you’re paying €15 a day. When we came to pay these charges (€155 total) on the day of check out we were told at that point it had to be in cash. Not ideal as we didn’t have any cash as we hadn’t budgeted an extra €155. I tried to pay on my credit card however the system wouldn’t accept this. At this point Jimmy started to become quite rude and talk down to us. Not great customer service at all. After finally managing to pay he then told us to just sit down and wait for our transfer. It appears that transfers don’t pick you up where they drop you off, something we weren’t aware of so the driver came looking for us. A shame about all of this as the area itself is quite nice, there is a 15/20 min walk to the main bars and restaurants so bare this in mind if mobility is an issue. The pool itself is nice too, there is artificial grass around the pool area which does get quite hot to walk on so make sure you wear someth

As a solo female traveller for the first time, I couldn’t have picked anywhere better. Typical Greek apts, clean & spacious. Pool area quiet & relaxing with a bar/ decent food menu. Nice & quiet area and approx 10/15 min walk to alykes. Thankyou to Katrina & Jimmy for looking after me ☺️I had a lovely time.

Oscar Villa and Studios is a little gem of a place about a 15 minutes stroll to the main area of Alykes and the gorgeous beach. It has its own pool, which was beautifully clean and the pool area was well maintained with enough sun beds for all. There was a small bar, serving drinks and snacks. Breakfast had a good choice of cereals, fruit, yogurt, eggs, meats and cheese and bread. The studio we stayed in was basic, to be expected in Greece, 2 single beds pushed together, but comfortable. Enough hanging and drawers for 2 people and a safety deposit box. Bathroom and shower area were quite small but the shower was great, we managed ok with the space. Kitchen area had a small fridge ✔️, a hot plate, not enough knives and forks but we managed, not sure if you would have enough utensils to cook a full meal. Air con was great and very much needed with the 40 degrees temperatures, however we felt it was overpriced at 20 euros per night!
