Porto Sani

We spent a week at Porto Sani in April and had the most wonderful family holiday. Having previously stayed at Sani Dunes (which we loved), we were curious to try Porto this time – and we were not disappointed! From the moment we arrived, the warmth and attentiveness of the staff made us feel instantly welcome. What stood out most was how incredible everyone was with our children (aged 6 and 2). Meal times, which can sometimes be stressful with little ones, were an absolute pleasure thanks to the kind, patient, and genuinely caring staff. Our children were greeted with smiles, remembered by name, and made to feel just as important as the adults – which meant a lot to us as parents. The hotel is exceptionally child-friendly, with thoughtful touches throughout that made our stay feel easy and relaxing. Both of our kids absolutely loved the crèche and kids club – the activities were engaging, the staff were so nurturing, and it gave us a little time to relax knowing they were so well cared for. As for the food – every restaurant we tried offered fresh, high-quality dishes and wonderful service. The variety kept things interesting throughout the week, and even our little ones found favourites they looked forward to each day. Dining at Porto Sani really feels like a treat, and we enjoyed every meal. We’d especially like to mention Dimitris, Amando and Riad – each of them went above and beyond with their customer service. They were warm, attentive, and incredibly professional, and made us feel so well looked after throughout our stay. We’re so grateful for the care and effort from the whole team at Porto Sani. It’s the perfect place for a family break, and we’re already looking forward to returning!

What a wonderful stay, everyone is so friendly and helpful, genuine warmth, kind and welcoming. Thank you to Kostas for making every detail so smooth and helping plan activities, dinners and extra rooms at short notice! You really are one of a kind and amazing at what you do. The communication was impeccable! Thank you to Erissa for being so sweet and cheerful during our meals and remembering all our names and looking after our little one! The views are spectacular, the nature, crystalline water, and pine forest. The food is divine and really high quality products. The children are well cared for and they feel so at home! You can see the joy and delight in their faces.

This was our first time staying at Sani Porto after many holidays both as a family and on my own at Sani Dunes. We were 9 people: 5 adults and 4 children aged 6,4,2 and 5 months. It worked brilliantly on every level. The rooms, all of which are suites or junior suites, are gorgeous and my bed was sumptuous. I was lucky enough to have a view of Sani Marina from my huge balcony and I could see Mount Olympus in the distance which was special. What we didn’t know until we arrived was that the wonderful Senior General Manager, Sakis, who had managed the team at Dunes so well, was now back at Porto. We were greeted effusively by our old friend and it really was the icing on the cake. It is the staff who make Sani really special; they are highly professional, nothing is ever too much trouble and yet they become friends. It’s why we keep going back. The Reception staff were superb. A big shout out to Dimitris who acted as our personal concierge: he ensured that the rooms had the requested items for babies and toddlers ( the Sani app shows what they can provide) before we arrived, facilitated our restaurant bookings and dealt with all our requests, no matter how small, so efficiently. The breakfast buffets served outstanding food. We preferred Elia to Artemis as it was a bit smaller, less busy and had some a la carte options available such as Greek eggs and pistachio croissant which were both delicious. We very much enjoyed an evening meal of sharing dishes at Lima especially the tacos ( I think we tried them all) and the skewers. Leonidas was super attentive, assisting us throughout the meal. Our standout evening meal as a big group was definitely at Elia where we tasted many dishes off the new menu. Those that were most memorable for me from the starters were the raw tuna with hazelnut, the octopus and the spanakopita salad which was so much more tasty than it looked when written on the menu. I ate the sole with a lemon and caper beurre blanc for main and it was divine. We also had desserts and I can thoroughly recommend the almond cake and the galaktoboureko which is for two but could certainly feed more. The whole meal was curated for us by Amando and Riad and they made it a night to remember for all three generations. Porto is definitely a place geared up for families with a great splash pool and plenty of shallow swimming areas as well as proper swimming pools, one of which is adults only. We were there in April and swam outside almost every day. The weather certainly exceeded our expectations with warm sun most days making it T shirt weather with layers for evenings. On the one rainy afternoon we used the indoor pool and played games in the beautiful lounge area. The creche and Kids Club were on site and we made use of them some mornings; the kids were happy both to go in and to come out so what’s not to like.
