Kendwa Beach Resort

The hotel is quite and has amazing view,they also have a restaurant by the beach with Indian Ocean view only for serving seafood dishes with maximum number of people aloud to be there. The have rooms designed in a sultan building or Arabic way with the restaurant and bar where they save dinner and lunch to guests. They have an enormous place with beach beds for relaxing during the day for those ocean lovers as well. I really loved the place for honeymooners I will recommend here. Staffs are friendly too and ready to share details when approached.

I visited the resort as a part of a trip hosted by YachtWeekEA/ Yacht Week East Africa. The accommodations were low quality. Part of that was our host booking the lowest rooms and the hotel being sold out, and seemingly still outdated and under renovations . I did upgrade to Island 1 at my expense. The room has a leaky sink in the right bathroom. The porch light and ceiling fan was inoperable. Traveling with YachtWeekEA/ Yacht Week East Africa was a nightmare. They did not communicate well. They knew nothing before it happened so we couldn’t prepare and our accommodations were subpar.

To start with, the hotel has NO private beach. The beach is Public with all kinds of vendors. This hotel appears to be an All Inclusive hotel for almost 100% ITALIAN people. All signs etc. are also in Italian language. My wife and I are not from Italy so the Italian staff quickly ignored us completely. The sunbeds are fine. BUT right in the middle stands a NOISY Italian DJ who shouts and plays NOISY Italian music almost all day long for the Italian animation staff. There is no escaping from tis noise if you are on your sunbed. This is by far the most noisy hotel on that beach. Italian people also moved us away from our sunbeds, because they had made VIP reservations (and indeed there was a (Italian) sticker on the sunroof). Could not find this booking possibility on ***********. We had lunch at their Essence restaurant but the food was tasteless. “Rooms designed in a Sultan or Arabic way”. We booked a King room with pool view and the advertised photos are misleading. There is nothing of a ”Sultan or Arabic design”. This room has a minimalistic low budget interior like any ordinary budget hotel. And forget that four poster bed. There is a nice big swimming pool. Unfortunately this is not near the beach but somewhere on the slope in a back corner of the resort. NEVER AGAIN. This hotel gives, too little value and too much NOISE for your money. Oh the following reviews are IMHO made by the hotel itself or their helpful friends (Both reviews written from Tanzania) and contain texts like “ALL ROOMS…had a luxurious feel to it” and “Recommendations for Honeymooners” (Noise lovers?). . Unbelievable Heaven on Earth! . AMAZING PLACE FOR HONEYMOONERS

This resort was super! the room (801, deluxe) was astonishing, very big room, super clean, close to all the services of the resort (restaraunts, theatre, beach), the bathroom was huge and beautiful, full of mirrors, big shower and even a yacuzzi! All the people that stayed at the resort had full all inclusive (breakfast, lunch, dinner and some snacks during the day at the bar serengeti), outside the all inculsive you have to pay only for expresso coffee and some imported liquors. The main restaurant called Bongoman was beautiful and everyone was kind, full of choiches to eat, they serve the drinks at the table (wine, beer, water, cocacola). The animators were young and funny, good entertainement in the evening. I didn't visited the pool because it was far from the beach. The beach was huge, the only problem was the presence of many beach boys and masai that wanted to take money from you (they sell excursions or souvenirs), i suggest to buy the excursions directly from the resort (alpitour people like Wi and Leo were very helpful about that) and the prices are not very different from beach boys but you have more security with the resort guides. We visited: Jozani forest (red monkeys), Baraka acquarium (bath with turtle), Nakupenda (snorkeling, sand bank and prison island with giant tortoises), Safari blu (Menai bay, sand bank, blue lagoon, snorkeling), Mnemba (dolphin tour and snorkeling). I had a very beautiful stay! I wish to return here one day.

Actually I am writing this and I am still staying in that hotel Amazing beach , pool and view But the stuff is very bad treatment I asked to change my room for a double bed not for two single beds and actually I am waiting for three hours and still waiting They don't know even when they will answer me with yes or no I asked for two hours late check out And they refused to answer, as they don't know !!!!!! This hotel is very expensive with a very very very bad service

La struttura è fatiscente in stato di abbandono e sporca. Personale inoperoso, biancheria da camere lisa, bucata e male odorante. Sul buffet volano mosche, cibo riciclato e di scarsa qualità, caffè e cappuccino a pagamento e in uscita 70 dollari di tassa di soggiorno, non preventivati da agenzia Il mare non è certo il più bello dell'isola, anzi vi galleggia schiuma bianca dovuta sicuramente a scarichi. Animazione per dilettanti, ma per lo meno si impegnano. Prezzo assurdo per il servizio reso. Non andate
