We spent a week traveling across Kenya, staying in five different accommodations — Lake Naivasha Country Club was by far the worst experience of the trip. The rooms feel stuck in the 1980s. Nothing seems to have been updated since then — old furniture, tired linens, and rock-hard beds that make it impossible to get a decent night’s sleep. It honestly felt like staying in a forgotten time capsule. Breakfast? Let’s not even go there. A very poor selection of items, most of which didn’t seem fresh or appealing. Hygiene standards were clearly not a priority, and the whole setup looked like it hadn’t been properly cleaned in ages. As for the location — yes, it’s “on the lake,” but in reality, it’s facing more of a swampy pond than the actual Lake Naivasha. The water looked murky and unpleasant, definitely not what we expected based on the photos or description. Overall, not worth the money or the time. There are far better options around Naivasha — this one was a real letdown.
