Coorg Marriott Resort & Spa

I am wondering, where was the Marriott care, delight and hospitality in this property? It is a five star property in structure but not anywhere close to a Marriott experience. Quite a few cheap incidents that can’t be associated with a five star experience. Infact, very disappointing. 1. In executive lounge for Platinum and Titanium members, they offer 100 Pipers. Severe cost cutting at expense of customer experience? 2. During evening tea, while serving a delicacy which needs to have lemon (neembu), they said lemons are not available. Double checked again with restaurant manager who confirmed that no lemons are there. Then why to serve that dish? 3. During dinner, we requested one daal fry. It was shot down by restaurant as they said it will take too much time to make Daal Fry. Really? Even a small dhaba won’t deny a basic daal fry addition. 4. In Executive lounge, we requested for one plate of Avocado toast. First they said, chef who made is not available. (So is a five star depending on a single chef?). Then they said, it would be on a chargeable basis. I have stayed 100’s of nights, but have not come across such greedy nature where they put small amount of money above customer experience. Property: 1. Swimming Pool water is damn cold in July/August due to monsoons. No temperature controlled pool in property. 1. No Sauna in the property. However, it is on chargeable basis in SPA. 3. In Play zone, you will be charged on a hourly basis for games for kids. (still fine) 4. Property room exteriors definitely demand maintenance. A gentleman on front desk was quite argumentative and his behaviour tilted towards disrespect to the guest and other Marriott resorts. The argument he presented was that all other dozen of Marriott properties were “wrong” in treating us (Titanium Bonvoy members) with room upgrades or other “complimentary” items and they should have been charged to us. This was quite rude for the other Marriott hospitality joints and an unacceptable view to us. We simply agreed to pay without lengthening the argument. Good points about the Property: 1. Safety 2. Lots of greenery, nice nature ambience in Monsoon 3. Nice Coffee Plantation tour by the property. The gentleman was very knowledgeable and polite. 4. Good Buggy service within the property 5. The GM was polite and so was F&B manager Ravi who did check on our comfort. Chef Brijesh Tiwari also went out of the way to make our Breakfast and other meals enjoyable. Verdict: Go for it to experience nature, monsoon and plantations. It’s 4 hours from Mangalore airport and 6.5 hours from Bengaluru. Have minimal expectations on “service” aspects and be prepared to shell out money for smallest of ask.

As a titanium elite marriott bonvoy member I have stayed at hundreds of marriott hotels in Asia including the top resort ones. Right from the time of check-in the culture to extract extra money is evident from the attitude. The front office staff tells us to proceed for the breakfast as our room was not ready. We take a quick bread toast coffee breakfast and guess what before we arrive at the lobby an associate from the coffee shop comes running after us stating i have to aign the cheque as breakfast is not comp on the day of check-in. *** ***, first time this has happened with me in this long marriott journey. Like this there are various examples where the money extraction attitude was clearly visible. They took extra money from us for my friend& his wife who just shared our room for 1 night despite getting a family estate villa which can easily sleep 5 adults whereas we were only 2 adults. The GM though a thorough gentleman is helpless infront of the greed of the owner who cares for nothing but profits at any cost. Chef Brijesh Tewari was one the silver lining in this dark cloud. Not quite fit to be associated with a group like Marriott. Should be rebranded immediately.

Excellent property! Nestled about 10 kms from Madikeri town and good road connectivity, this is worth a visit for anyone planning a leisure break at Coorg. Courteous staff and great food at Madikeri Kitchen restaurant. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the property to celebrate my wife's birthday and our post-wedding holiday. I had requested a small birthday cake with a message this was shared in advance, at check-in, and again at the restaurant. Despite repeated reminders, the cake was only delivered after I called AYS at 11:50 PM, and even then, it arrived without the message. It was clear the team was not aligned, and the service felt reactive and disinterested. The experience at Madikeri Café was equally disappointing. We had to move indoors from the outdoor seating because no one attended to us, despite multiple follow-ups. Food was average, we finished our drinks by 10:30 PM, and went to pickup main course from buffet and some buffet items were not replenished. The chef seemed unaware and unprepared. The only highlight was the room, room cleanliness and the resort’s ambience. Unfortunately, the service did not match the expectations, making the overall experience underwhelming and not worth recommending.

Excellent stay with warm hospitality provided by Orchid Vacation. Being a member have visited this property over almost 4 times. Tranquil atmosphere and scenic location, offering respite amidst nature with it's beauty on the peak. Rooms given by orchid was spacious ***** with beautiful views. It was a good experience we enjoyed the holiday with orchid vacation, staff members were very kind and helping nature. Property was clean and hygiene, room service was very prompt. Orchid have fulfilled my expectations at par, it's worth and valuable being a member at Orchid Vacation. Thanks to entire team orchid.

We had good time at Coorg Marriot resort from 25 May-29May 2025. It is like a dream place with spacious, well lighted, clean & elegant Cottage room having huge granite bathroom area with jacuzzi & lots of mirrors. Breakfast was included. It had many varieties with fresh fruits & testy north, south Indian, Western & South Asian dishes. Many staff members have helped in various ways. It felt like a family at Coorg Marriot resort. Like Ravi in Madikeri kitchen helped in modifying dishes as per our need in dinner. Chef Akshit prepared special dish veg lasagna for us for dinner even though it was a small portion. I appreciate that gesture a lot. Pavan at reception was extremely helpful with property information and ready to help anytime. He saved my life by locating my lost mobile in a buggy. We had cottage no. 2125 & then upgraded to plantation side 3101, we thank Pavan for a such a good gesture. Mandana in TV department patiently explain casting mobile on TV. In general talk he was Informative about Kodava tribal community. Last day 5th day of departing the r Coorg Marriot resort Rajendra Joshi in kitchen offer sandwiches to carry with us as our travel to Mangalore - the coastal city which was 4-5 hours with the non-Stop rain. It is mind boggling how Marriot management manages 37 acres property with buggy dropping at room & back to the main building for breakfast, lunch, high tea snacks with activities & dinner so efficiently & courteously. There is an excellent network among resort staff & guests. One must stay at Coorg Marriot to enjoy the hospitality in a serene environment. I do have benefit being a member at Marriott. We do get a few complimentary favors like room upgrade, food sampling & so on.
