Amada Colossos Resort

This was an amazing resort, the staff were super friendly and it was all really nice & clean. The Mountain View from our room was great during sunset. The waterpark was a lot of fun, even for adults. The buffet food wasn’t amazing for vegetarians, but went down really well for my partner who ate meat. I think map or better signage would be helpful to show where all the amenities are as well as the schedule for the activities/shows.

We stayed at Amada Colossos Resort from June 29 to July 8, 2025. We chose it with high expectations — the location looked good, the reviews were encouraging, and we were hoping for a peaceful, worry-free holiday. But instead, our vacation was ruined: we ended up spending half of it either seriously ill or trying to recover. What made it even more upsetting was the hotel’s complete lack of proper response — or any real concern at all. What was good (and there was some good!): To be honest, Amada Colossos Resort did have some really nice things going for it, especially at first. Our room was spotless, and we had a room on the top floor with a fantastic view of the sea and the pool area. The buffet food was genuinely good – tasty, well-prepared, and with lots of variety. Every evening had a different theme, and the desserts were excellent. Most of the staff in the restaurant and around the resort were friendly and welcoming. In the lobby bar, there was live music at night. I enjoyed sitting there before bed, just relaxing with my phone. And for anyone not drinking alcohol (like me), I recommend trying the Blue Ocean Limeade — good flavor and presentation. The on-site shop was a pleasant surprise. You’ll find essentials like sunscreen, flip-flops, inflatable beds, first-aid items, souvenirs and local sweets. Most importantly, the prices were surprisingly reasonable. Definitely worth checking out. In the evenings, there was some decent entertainment for both kids and adults. Disappointed: On July 1, the third day of our stay, I suddenly became severely ill — vomiting, diarrhea, and intense weakness. I never left the resort and only ate food provided at the hotel. By the evening, I felt much worse and my friend took me to the hospital. When he asked the reception to call a taxi to the hospital, their concern wasn’t my health — it was demanding immediate payment for the hotel doctor they had previously called to our room. At the hospital, I received IV fluids for almost six hours. During that time, we saw at least five(!!!) other guests from Amada Colossos being treated — just at that one hospital, on that one day. Clearly, this was not an isolated case. When I returned to the hotel late that night, the receptionist asked about the hospital visit and wrote something next to our room number in a large logbook. I noticed several similar entries highlighted in bright colors — likely referring to other hospitalized guests. And not a single person ever followed up to ask how I was doing on the next day. The next day, my friend became ill too, though his symptoms were less severe, and he stayed in the room. No one from the hotel contact us or offered help for the next three days. No information was offered, no precautions taken, no investigations into the cause and no steps to prevent further spread. We had an amazing family holiday at Amada Colossos. We were there for 10 nights. Food and the the selection of food and drinks were brilliant. We had amazing meals at the 4 restaurants. Staff friendly and attentitve. Hotel spotless. The sunbeds - we did reserve early at 8am but this is a usual for us on holiday. There has been comments re air con in the room. It does not go below 22, but if kept at this, it was not uncomfortable. I would say that the hotel aircon wasn't as low as we would expect. Please dont let the negative reviews put you off Amada Colossos.
