Roots Shoots & Beds

We have stayed at Roots, Shoots & Beds in May 2023 (5 people, 2 rooms, ground floor). Excellent experience, especially from the fact that the owners themselves take care of the property. I look forward to visit again in the future. Pros: - The owners of this property are extremely courteous. That is the biggest plus. A few instances worth mentioning: 1. We arrived late & instead of chapatis rice was available for dinner. The owner took the pain to prepare chapatis late at night. 2. I was looking for curd, which is unavailable at the kitchen, so the owner’s wife brought us curd form her adjoining home kitchen. How many people would do this in 2023? 3. One of us wanted a rose cutting & instead the owner gifted us English rose (rooted), free of cost from his garden - Calm & quite location - Few rooms, so not overcrowded - Beautiful, natural landscape garden, full of exotic plants such as Geranium & wild orchids - Good scenic beauty. At night, you can see the night lights of Kalimpong - Food is good. The cook is well behaved & efficient Cons: (not too many): - Low manpower, so you will not get the service as good as standard hotels - The rooms can be better (cleaner, with cozy beds & amenities such as tea/coffee bags etc.) - The entrance is narrow. It is difficult to locate the property. A better gate/prominent glow sign is recommended

We have stayed here one night ( 18th to 19th March ) with our friend and his wife. One first floor and one ground floor room. Location :: It is in between the main Kalimpong bazar and Dello park. Opposite to Shakya Monastery, 11th Mile , Rishi road. It is little bit far from the main bazar , but vehicles are easily available from the main bazar and from the property . Facilities provided :: 1) parking for vehicle.2) Rooms and beds are spacious enought for two persons. 3) Neat and clean rooms. From Balcony , every where you see varities of flowers . 4) Places are there to get Yoga and meditation . 5) Wi fi is available in the premises.6) Night view of Kalimpong lightings from the property is mind blowing. Kitchen facilities :: 1) Well decorated outdoor dining places are there. 2) Barbique facilities are provided on demand as they have very good arrangements. Food :: Breakfast is complementary and very good selection and tasty too.Snacks , Lunch and dinner are provided with extra cost. Foods are too tasty to express ( But should be informed earlier to the kitchen staffs ). About the owner and Staffs :: The owner and his wife are staying there and ready to solve every problems with care . The owner, Mr Nawyaj Gurung ( 9593970459 ) and his wife , Mrs. Prateema Gurung ( 7602043544 ) are very educated , polite and too gentle. The lady staff Kavita and the main cook Yugal are well behaved . The food is very very tasty. About the Toilet :: ,1) Toileteries are provided.2) Geyser is there to get instant hot water.3) Clean and spacious toilet. Thanks to the owner and all the staffs . It's a relaxing and memorable experience to stay there.
