Let me start with the positive, Kefen has done a great job with design and landscaping. The staff is responsive and tried to give great service, but it's difficult to provide good service when management doesn't give you the tools to work with. First the room smells like plastic and there are no curtains in the room so when the sun bears down the room is so hot the room is uninhabitable. The little air conditioner can't overcome the heat. So you can't use your room from 11am to 5pm on a hot day. Next is the room is poorly equipped. There is a bed, 2 chairs and a tiny desk. The only plug in the room is 10 ft from the bed. There are no beside tables so if you like to put your phone beside the bed, have a drink beside your bed, or anything there is nowhere to put it. The only light in the room is a chandelier that hangs down to about five feet so if you're tall you're constantly hitting your head. I asked them if they could raise the chandelier so I stop hitting my head on it but they never did so I had to climb up and do it myself. No bedside lamps. They just installed warm water, which was better then the cold water previous guests had. The bathroom only has 2 towels. No face towels. There is no where to keep things cold, no refrigerator in the room and no community refrigerator. So your only option is to get a wine bucket and ask for ice. If they have ice, sometimes it took over 2 hours to get ice. Sometimes they didn't have any ice. The restaurant is a joke, they have a steak and a burger. We had the burger which wasn't a burger at all, it was chunks of beef with sautéed onions on a bun. Terrible. They charge for everything, coffee, breakfast, even milk for your coffee. But don't expect any coffee or breakfast before 7:30am. It's like a woman designed the place, then a guy who knows nothing about the hotel business finished the job. They are 80% there. But when you charge $220-$300 a night and think hot water is a luxury you have missed the boat. They told us they were going to have some drones flying but they would not invade our privacy. So at 6am this morning it sounded like a fleet of drones decended on us waking us up. I guess the drones woke up before the restaurant. I'd love to know how flying drones with cameras right above our room at 6am is NOT an invasion of our privacy? Mark Kefen off your list until they fill in with what every other glamping site has and fix the problems. If you want a much better dome glamping experience, check out Alare in El Zonte they are 5 star for the same price. On the beach, breakfast and coffee are included and they have a full honor kitchen open 24/7. I tried to talk to the owner or management about our concerns but nobody contacted us. They did give us a free coffee. Wow!
