An oasis of calm in a bustling city! What a gem. We can't recommend this establishment highly enough. From the moment we arrived to our departure 3 nights later, the staff were unobtrusive but always there to help. The building, courtyards and gardens of this former palace are beautiful and very well maintained. Our room was very well appointed and the pool was a good size. It was lovely to eat outside - the tables were set with linen. Delicious food and the accompaniment of the traditional rawan hata was a wonderful added touch. The Mahara still lives in one part of the building and is a visible presence.

A fabulous stay in this welcoming peaceful hotel in a great location. Our room was spacious, the food was excellent and such a wonderful pool are too. The staff were first class and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely recommend this hotel to friends and can’t wait to return.

A beautiful, peaceful , extremely well kept haveli. The staff are courteous, helpful and friendly. It s a joy to be here . The rooms are beautiful and the entire resort is so well designed and kept it takes your breath away. Quiet and elegant and so reminiscent of what the old days may have been with courtesy and quality everywhere. The food is delicious and dining on the outside lawns is just awesome with the local musician strumming folk tunes . Will remember this vacation for the gracious , peaceful ambience . A beautiful place and hope it stays this way always.

Incredible and relaxing 3 night stay! This hotel was beautiful with the grounds and gardens always spotless. We really enjoyed the outdoor areas and the pool was perfect after our sightseeing tours. The massage was great too. The room was very peaceful, private, clean and very comfortable. All meals were great, tasty and delicious. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, always happy to offer help or guidance. Would highly recommend!

Normally it is not too difficult to find some fault with a hotel however Ratan Villas was an exception to this rule. From the moment you walk through the gate and see the gardens and the beautifully proportioned building behind, the courtyards, fountains and staircases you know that this hotel is special. No two rooms are the same in layout but they are all tastefully furnished with well appointed bathrooms. The food is excellent as is the service and there is a very nice outside pool area. During our 3 weeks tour in India we stayed in 8 hotels and this was the best.

My travelling friends continue to rate Ratan Villas as their best hotel stay in Rajasthan. A beautiful heritage building with individually tastefully appointed rooms, lovely swimming pool, delicious home cooked local cuisine and friendly staff make for a very satisfying experience. We will be back again and again.

Ratan Vilas is "A Small yet Beautiful" property nestled within the city of Jodhpur and literally few minutes away from the airport. The entire property is very tastefully decorated and maintained very well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Heritage Hotel - the warmth, Rajasthani/ Rajaputani hospitality with some delicious food and service was excellent. The room was very spacious and well appointed. The breakfast spread & the food served was very delicious. The staff were very courteous and warm. We were pleasantly surprised when we accidentally met Brijraj Singh, the host/owner & great grandson of the Maharaja. Had some good chat and got to know about the history, their Philosophy to give the best experience to guests etc. He is such a thorough gentleman that he even personally dropped us to our friend's place. Great place to stay and relax if you are in Jodhpur !

Our only regret was that we couldn't stay here longer, but the other nights we were in town were already booked up well before when I was planning this trip. It was my daughter's favorite hotel from our 3 week tour of India. The room was beautifully remodeled, and the small property is truly an oasis in the city. The staff treats you like an honored guest from the moment you arrive until you drive away at the end. The dinner and breakfast were excellent, and when we asked if we get massages, the hotel staff called the masseuse who is offsite, but uses a room there next to the pool, and she came over very promptly. The garden is beautiful, and we enjoyed just sitting there with a book. You can't go wrong here!

Arrived to be given a musty smelling room with no privacy on the ground floor. The room has a window facing a courtyard with a noisy fountain on one side and a window facing a courtyard which serves as a main thoroughfare on the opposite side. The window in the bathroom faces a caged off space which is run down and unpleasant. What a disappointment after staying in so many luxury hotels and havelis in India.
