This was our fourth stay at the hotel - in many ways it retains its excellence, but there are things to consider before booking. On the excellent side (and I have previous reviews on this), there is a real community feel about the hotel which I have not come across anywhere else. Many of its facilities, including the rooftop pool, are really first class. If you want somewhere to relax by day and party by night, this is probably for you. It fell short this year, however, of the five stars. There were two prime reasons for this. First, the food. The food was exceptional last year; this year it was back to “quite good”. Do consider whether you really want to go half board (as we always have, but probably wouldn’t if we were to return); you are essentially tied to the vote for your evening meal every evening and it *may* get a little familiar. This will work for a lot of people - particularly, I would suggest, larger families. For couples, however, it may be a bit restrictive as there are excellent choices nearby in Lido di Jesolo itself and the wider Venice area. Second, the location in Piazza Mazzini may be seen as a significant advantage - but it can also be a disadvantage, as the square can get very noisy at night (particularly on the Tuesday dance nights) which means you are really obliged to tolerate a party going on directly at the entrance potentially until 11.30pm on about three or four days in a week. Again, this will suit some people who will enjoy the party atmosphere; but for those who have come to relax, this may be an issue worth considering. We are very grateful to the team for another enjoyable stay, but there are those issues just to ponder for people before booking, depending on exactly what sort of holiday they want.
