Jekyll Island Ocean Club is tastefully decorated and centrally located within Jekyll Island which makes getting anywhere very easy. Overall, the property was disappointing. This hotel is priced far beyond what is offered in terms of service and amenities. Lack off attention to detail such as not continuously keeping pool towels stocked, broken pool chairs with cigarette burn holes, broken steps leading to the beach, and large gaps in the stonework around the pool are elements that should never be noticed when a property prides itself in luxury and tradition. This hotel is priced like a Ritz but presents itself as a lower Marriott/Hilton property. I would look elsewhere if I were to ever go to Jekyll Island again.

Excellent experience would stay here again - rooms were awesome as was the staff. Views from balcony was wonderful and the pool was never crowded. Great for couples and for families!!

Decent hotel, but for the cost and the vibe they are trying to sell, falls short. When we went outside so excited to arrive on our first day here, with 30 minutes left to sit on the beach, we were greeted by a young man who looked at his watch and said “you are really asking me to set up an umbrella for you for 30 minutes”? Yes, for $600+ night, I do not think this is unreasonable. Not a great way to kick off our stay here and that vibe continued for the most part for the rest of the stay. Not unaccommodating, but by no means “happy to serve”. The afternoon bartender on Saturday at lunch was exceptional, kind, and friendly. Adored Jekyll Island, but would look elsewhere to stay when we revisit.

The location is great, and the main restaurant is fantastic, but the suite was dated and in need of a deep cleaning. The mildew in our shower was disgusting, and even though I reported it to the front desk and housekeeping, they did very little to rectify the issue (bleach and a scrub brush really do work wonders). There was a gross splatter of something above our bed, and the toilet seat was cracking and needed replacement (seriously, these are 15 bucks at Lowes). For over 800 a night, this place should be far cleaner and better. Sadly, these were only a few of our issues.

Awful stay. Everything we ordered from drinks to food was almost always incorrect. Staff was rude and untrained. The hotel itself is beautiful but the experience for the cost was not worth it.

Free shuttle to take you to other resort is great. Make sure to rent bikes and can use to visit museum and turtle rescue too. Shopping center next door has plenty of food options with easy walk over.

I never leave bad reviews, but people should be warned. I’ve stayed here with my family 3 times in the last year. Last summer it was great. It’s gone so downhill since then. The service is nonexistent. Literally, there’s barely anyone around to help with anything and the ones that are there are temps, as we were told. They might have a problem with the AC system as the room was stuck at 69 degrees constantly, regardless of what we set the temp to. It seemed humid and smelly in the rooms. They used to have frequent shuttles between the resorts, but they are much less available so there was a lot of waiting around. Also, there’s zero upkeep. The palm trees around the pool have seeds and bugs constantly falling. It’s simple, trim the trees every few months. It’s not that expensive. I literally cannot believe what they charge for these rooms considering the lack of service and upkeep. We won’t be back.
