This is one of the best options to stay in Jaffna. It’s not in the city centre, more on the outskirts of the city , there’s nothing around, so you basically plan your time in the resort. The hotel itself is nice , the rooms look a bit old but clean , there was no hot water in our room. The territory of the hotel is beautiful with the pool , restaurant, little museums to visit (ex bunkers). The food in the restaurant is yummy , the staff is friendly and polite, especially Scotty , he was very helpful and nice to us during our stay. Good experience at this hotel, just the water situation in the rooms should be improved.

We recently visited Fox Jaffna with our family and were truly impressed by every aspect of our stay. The rooms were exceptionally clean, well-appointed, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. The entire property was immaculate, with a serene setting that beautifully blends modern comfort with deep historical significance. As someone from the U.S. traveling with my Sri Lankan husband—who had never been to Jaffna before—this was a meaningful and eye-opening experience. The hotel is filled with relics from the war and an impressive collection of artwork by renowned Sri Lankan painters, offering a powerful and moving glimpse into the region’s past and cultural richness. The on-site restaurant served authentic local cuisine with generous portions that left us more than satisfied. Every meal felt like a celebration of Jaffna’s culinary heritage. The staff were warm, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable about the area, offering thoughtful recommendations and insights that enhanced our visit. Fox Jaffna is more than just a hotel—it’s a cultural experience wrapped in comfort and care. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore the north of Sri Lanka with both heart and history in mind.

The Staff and Manager especially the two Shanes were superb! The good was good and the garden ambience heavenly. The Hotel has a story and a history!.

Had a well deserved rest and break after a arduous 8 hour drive from Colombo. Great location,interesting artwork and good food with a decent spread for breakfast. Be sure to try out the authentic Jaffna style mutton Paal Poriyal with mild spice for the faint of heart.

It was a wonderful stay at Fox. I love how the original house is kept intact with modern amenities. The bunkers were the highlight together with the stories behind it. The meals were simple but delicious. Scottie and Agilan was simply great, they were so accommodating in whatever we asked for the kids and us. The therapist for the massage was ideal, it so happened that I got late by around 10-15 mins but he was very calm and a superb massage it was. The swing was a hit for the kids, they simply loved it. Will we stay here again of course we will. We loved being here!!!

Had 3 wonderful days in Jaffna and the Fox Resort made this location a memorable one! Lovely friendly staff throughout who can’t do enough for you. Set in lovely manicured gardens with a lovely pool area to relax in. The food was truly amazing and was so carefully prepared it was exceptional in every way!

Stayed in this hotel as part of our honeymoon, and we absolutely loved this place. I am a British Tamil and my wife is Portuguese, this was her first visit to Jaffna ,and my 3rd. Jaffna has changed a lot since the end of the war- thank God l, and you can see how it is improving slowly. This hotel is evidence of this and just loved the customer service, food and everything they could offer such as the Jaffna crab curry cooking demo and the tunnels below showcasing the LTTE and an art exhibition. Can't recommend this hotel enough if your staying in Jaffna, the food is great and the staff have impeccable customer service.

Renovated ancestral mansion located away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Beautifully designed with a touch of old charm and modern luxury. Well kept picturesque garden. We booked a heritage room which opens to the front courtyard. Spacious and comfortable room with necessary amenities. There was no shower cubicle and water splashes everywhere. Staff was kind enough to provide us with extra floor mats. Better to fix the problem permanently. Buffet was not that great and didn’t have much variety or authentic Jaffna food. Exceptional services by the restaurant staff. Apologies for not remembering their names. Highlight was the opportunity to visit traditional bunkers with impressive art work. Worth a visit. Even after three days, we were not able to use the pool or relax in nature due to heavy rain. Delightful stay but couldn’t enjoy it fully. Look forward to staying again ! Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Fox Jaffna to anyone visiting the area.

What a wonderful hotel, the only thing that let it down slightly was the food. The included buffet choice for a vegetarian was not great. For the price, I expected a bit more. However the facilities were lovely, the rooms were clean. The heritage linked to the land is very intriguing and the bunkers from the war are definitely worth looking around- they were turned into a museum and art gallery. Most importantly, the staff and customer service was impeccable. In particular Scoty, who looked after us at dinner and breakfast so kindly, Akilan, who also was so helpful at the table and with my elderly mum, and Sanjewa at reception who was so helpful, all deserve a shoutout for helping make our trip so great.

Absolutely beautiful setting, manicured lush gardens and exceptionally attentive staff. Special mention to Scoty, the pastry chef NilakshaN and Pradikshan who were extremely friendly and helpful.

A little oasis in Jaffna. Stayed with my family to visit relatives and loved the pool and friendly service. The room was well designed, clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that I couldn't get the balcony door to lock but it was late at night and I didn't ask for help, so it could have been user error. Scotty in particular provided excellent service and helped us with dinner and an early breakfast . Would recommended and look forward to staying again.

If ever you spend a night at this hotel, please ask for Anith (I hope I got his name right- he lives in Kandy and works at Fox Jaffna). And ask the chef to make you a crab curry. A tiny bit on the hot side of spiciness, but worth every cent. Thank you Anith for your hospitality and kindness. Legend.

Excellent rooms, clean, spacious even for 3adults. Clean neat washrooms with excellent shower pressure. The resort is beautiful, centred around a nice warm pool with nicely designed landscaping, variety of plants including palm trees. The dining area is nicely blended with the garden and outdoor dining is the norm!!! Food is fresh, excellent and very local. Staff is very friendly and we were taken care of by Scoty and Pradikshan in the dining area, making sure all our requirements were met. Some of us were vegetarian and they took care of that by making food off menu. The manager also comes and speak to guests to make sure they are happy and comfortable. Ideal for party of any size, whether one family, couple or many families together. Place has history with the owner being a famous Sri Lankan businessman who was born there and the house now provides few suites and the entrance. They have bunkers that depicts Jaffna’s history and a must visit before seeing the sights in Jaffna. Highly recommend and will come back again on my next visit to Jaffna.
