Melia La Palma

Our first time in La Palma, and of all the islands we have visited, it is probably (just) at the top of our favourite list. Let's be clear from the outset: This hotel is not for you if you want to be close to "the action" ( whatever "action" there may be in La Palma). Situated in Puerto Naos, a small village on the West of the island, it is out of the way, on the edge of the sea at the end of the beach, a haven for those who like to decompress with the sound of the sea lapping against the shore and the birds chirrupping in the trees. There was a high percentage of guests who are. ahem. of a more mature age ( of which I count myself as one) and a very small percentage of guests who came from England. The hotel was spotless, and the staff engaging and hardworking. We had a couple of minor issues that were resolved quickly and with charm. Whilst a little out of the way, the bus to the local town was regular, with a change there for another bus to Santa Cruz if you wanted to travel further afield using public transport. We hired a car from the hotel - on the pricey side, but convenient - enabling us to see more of the island than by bus. We found both the breakfast and evening meal buffet to be excellent. Of course, there were times when it was a little busier than others, but not that it became unpleasant, and it was clear from the choices that an attempt was made to cater for everyone's dietary requirements whilst at the same time mixing up the menu. All in all, we have had nothing but a positive experience from this hotel, and are happy to recommend..... if you like your week nice and quiet.

My 4 rating probably generous- 3.5 is more like it. Good points - excellent staff overall (always a couple of rude ones!). Particular thanks to EDUARDO in reception, who was polite, and concerned for our wellbeing.. Also to chef SIMON who made sure us vegetarians were catered for. Finally the excellent entertainments, both evening and daytime, with thanks to PAULA, ELENA, SARA, ALEX and everyone else involved. The heated pool was lovely. Room generally Ok although some bits showing their age. Bad points - insufficient space around main pool so generally impossible to get a sun bed there (yes I know that there are more sunbeds in another area but this was a trek to the next floor and thru' reception in wet swimmies - not ideal). Restaurant could be extremely busy at times, and though the staff worked very hard it wasn't ideal and food could run out or be lukewarm/ cold as the hotplates were not efficient enough. A matter for management - not the staff! Checkout ok except for the room key (and requested replacement) not working meaning a 15 minute wait in a corridor in wet swimming costume whilst it was sorted out.

Have just arrived home , we had a lovely time the hotel, food, and staff are good, food a bit samey, but on the whole ok...the only thing i would suggest is, spend a bit more money on the evening entertainment. After the children had been entertaind, which was really good!!, i think that the holiday makers would be tempted to stay back at the hotel instead of going elsewhere. But to be fair we had a lovely time and would return.

El Meliá La Palma supone un claro ejemplo de la superación, y es que tras 5 años cerrado por la pandemia y la posterior erupción del volcán Tajogaite, ha vuelto a abrir sus puertas y además ha cambiado la categoría, lo que también implica cambio de mobiliario y dependencias del hotel. Nuestra experiencia ha sido muy buena, contando con la ayuda de Belén y Eduardo en la recepción The Level y con Raquel y Jonatan en los desayunos. Estoy segura de que el hotel va a seguir mejorando porque las ganas y el empeño que tiene el personal sólo suman y lo harán crecer. Muchas gracias por todo. Volveremos.

Es un hotel muy bonito, el personal de recepción nos atendieron de maravilla muy bien, y las chicas de la limpieza perfectas y muy amables en todo momento. Pero nos pusieron el horario de cena a las 19 horas a pesar de ser españoles un gran fallo, y los camareros del comedor descordinados, dos de las 4 noches, tuvimos que ir tras de ellos para que nos atendieran. En el fufet havia algún mosquito. Una verdadera lastima

No podíamos haber elegido mejor!Qué atenciones,que calidad en el desayuno,tanto el level como el normal,y que atenciones!nos dieron una habitación preciosa con un sonido de las olas del mar alucinante y un atardecer de ensueño. El hotel tiene shows nocturnos mayoritariamente fuera de temporada enfocados a extranjeros pq es lo que más hay,y área de la piscina y hamacas muy agradable. El gimnasio está fenomenal aunque lo usamos poco. Las tapas de la tarde también están genial. Se nota muchísimo que esta recién reformado.Gracias a todo el equipo por hacer nuestra estancia especial,por sentirnos como en casa y por cuidar cada detalle.
