classic greek hospitality by the lovely couple of Katerina and Lambros. Their hospitality and energy was so much more than I asked for. Enjoyed the beach and easy access.to the rest of.beaches and up the hill to Chora that is only 5mins riding my scooter. super close to the ferry port and nearby 3-4 other bars, restaurant and cafes. Easy to rent car nearby and gas station. Has small private common pool. Would definitely come again and highly recommend

We stayed here with 4 teenage girls and 4 women. The accommodations were great. The owners were amazing! Katerina made us a breakfast that was absolutely delicious. The place felt like home away from home. The beach was right across the street with very affordable beach clubs with chairs umbrellas and food! Great restaurants around the hotel also. The whole experience was lovely and I would definitely stay here again.

Mare Monte was a dream. It is a beautiful property, steps away from the beach with stunning views. Rooms are clean and the hosts (Lambros, Nikki, Katerina) are wonderful. They were very responsive, helpful and friendly. I highly recommend the place to anyone visiting Ios!

We stayed at Mare Monte for 10 days, and unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant. There was no hot water so we all had cold showers, another issue occurred when fake tan ended up on the bed sheets. Although most of the stains came out after washing, we were still fined £120. When we questioned the charge and refused to pay it immediately, the receptionist threatened to call the police Throughout our stay, the cleaner failed to provide fresh towels and didn’t change the sheets for most of our time there. Basic housekeeping standards were not met. Overall, this place seems more focused on squeezing money out of guests than providing a comfortable or welcoming stay. I would not recommend Mare Monte to anyone — it felt like a money-making scheme targeting at young people. As we were talking to older residents that lived there and they also said they got stains on sheets and didn’t get fined.

This place is pretty awful. The host says she is new and knows nothing about hospitality. It shows. Dreary rooms, old faded cracked pictures on the walls, very poor quality mattresses and pillows, dirty sunloungers round what could be a nice pool. The worst of Greek showers. Very old fridges with broken freezer compartments. Doesn't look like it has had new decor since the 1970s.

Lovely stay Absolutely loved my stay at Mare Monte hotel. The location is absolutely perfect, you couldn't get closer to the beach (very nice beach) and it was close to the port and quick drive to the city centre. The grounds of the hotel are also very nice, gorgeous flowers everywhere and a big pool with plenty of sun loungers. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself isn't perfect a little outdated and needs a slight tune up but honestly the was easy to look past with everything else it has. Definitely would recommend staying here if you visit Ios.

We arrived early at Mare Monte, they let us keep our things there before check in and right off the bat we felt like family. The location is amazing, you couldn’t be closer to the beach food or drinks! And Kat always had the best recommendations for dinners and drinks! It was a fabulous experience! The flowers were also in bloom which made it that much more magical!

Felt like family! Mare monte was out of a dream between the amazing staff that felt like family to the beautiful flowers blooming around the walk way to the rooms. You are as much on the beach as you can and it is a quick walk to food and cute shops! The pool was very clean and also lovely to relax by!
