We had a fabulous long weekend at the lodge (end of Feb into March) to celebrate my husband's birthday, along with our 9 year-old son. The view is stunning, whether you're inside the beautifully decorated lodge, sitting on the balcony, out on the terrace, in the hot tub, or even in the sauna! The lodge is cosy with a log fire, but open plan and spacious with lots of different places to sit and relax. The hot tub is automated so it is ready whenever you want to use it. The kitchen is well-equipped, with various culinary equipment and an American-style fridge freezer. The smart TVs have all the modern apps, so you can continue whatever you were binge-watching at home. There is a shop selling essentials just a short walk up the hill, though it is a very steep driveway (even some cars might struggle). Next to the shop is a café/gift shop selling tea/coffee/cakes and fancy milkshakes. Next door to that is a car park with modern, clean toilets. From there you can take a short walk to the Falls of Foyers, and longer walks if you preferred. We live in Moray, only about an hour or so from the lodges. For us, this was about relaxing and not having to do much. We are lucky enough to be able to visit the area on a day trip, so we didn't need to cram everything in. So, a long weekend was ideal for our needs, but if you are travelling from further afield and wanted to do more, the lodge would be a great base for a week or longer. We hope to visit the lodge again soon!
