The Nevada City area has been booming with new trails connecting the town to its Deer Creek watershed. The latest major addition is the Deer Creek Environs section of the Tribute Trail. This trailhead is a short 2 minute walk from the cottage. The Environs is a forested 1.5 mile loop on the south side of Deer Creek where, just a few minutes from town. There’s a walk along the old Rough and Ready ditch, a woodsy foray downslope from the ditch, remnants of the Providence Mine, and an easy connection by foot or bicycle to Nevada City.Guest accessThe cottage is conveniently located on a quiet street with separate driveway. The front door is opened using a unique access code that will be provided to you the day of arrival. The cottage is nestled in natural, non-manicured, outdoor surroundings with a private gravel driveway and off-street parking. If we know you are arriving after dark, we will leave lights on for you as there are no street lights on our end of the street. This house is an updated Miner's cabin! If you'd like to experience some of the Nevada City old time charm you will love my place!Please note that bedrooms are attached to each other, making this place ideal for families with children.Your single pet will be accepted on a case by case basis. When you make a request, tell me a bit about them. I will send you a copy of my pet policy to agree to before booking.My place was a miner's cabin dated back to 1924! The kitchen and one of the bathrooms has been updated. We have kept many of the quirky features of the home while also adding newer touches.Note that like many older homes in the area it does not have central a/c, but there are 2 stand alone room units, and fans in every room. This is a shaded property that stays cool even on 100 degree days.Also note that there is a studio on the property that is also a short term rental, though it tends to be often occupied by monthly guests. If you are interested to rent the studio as well let me know and I will give you the link to see if it's available.It is about a 10 minute walk to downtown Nevada City or to Pioneer Park.This is a neighborhood and family oriented area. Guests are expected to maintain reasonable noise levels.
