The Tallulah House is a family home that has been completely renovated. It features a large screened porch, large yard, fully furnished kitchen, central heat and air, covered parking, washer and dryer and beautiful oak floor. It is conveniently located to the town of Robbinsville, a short drive from Lake Santeetlah, the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway and great fishing and hiking.My wife (Sara) and I (Rick) are retired NC Public School employees after 30+ years with Graham County Schools. We have remodeled Sara's parents home over a two year period and are now making it available as a short time rental property. We are active in our community and church and enjoy spending time with family and our four grandchildren. Relax on the open porch with rocking chairs and a picnic table for outdoor dining. Wood burning fireplace, outdoor fire pit and a charcoal grill for your use. Charcoal and plenty of firewood is provided. Tiled heated bathroom floor with shower/tub combo. Dogs are permitted but prior acceptance by host is required. No cats are permitted. ****Please disclose age and breed of dog when making a reservation. You must have host approval for you dog. A max of 2 dogs, both under 70 lbs, at least 1 year old and housebroken. Board games and books for your enjoyment. There us a 40 inch HD flat screen TV with Firestick, Netflix, Amazon Prime plus DVDs as well. Wi-Fi is available as well as a land line since cell phone service is very limited throughout the county. You can have your cell number forwarded to the landline depending on your cell company. Cell service is available at the top of the road and various other areas including the intersection of 143 and 28 in the parking lot about 5 minutes away. **While we have internet, it is not considered high speed to enable you to work from the cabin. Cable Cove is 14 minutes away for swimming and boating at Lake Fontana. Fontana Dam and visitor center and The Nantahala Outdoor Center with white water rafting and zip line are approximately 20-25 minutes away. Hurrahs Casino is about a 35-minute drive. Groceries, beer and wine can be purchased at Ingles grocery in Robbinsville approximately 20 minutes away. Alcohol is available for purchase in Bryson City or Murphy.The road to the cabin is single lane and gravel. The driveway is uphill and gravel but 4 WD or AWD are NOT REQUIRED. ***We do not recommend motorcycle riders book the cabin due to the gravel road and driveway.THE CABIN'S DRIVEWAY WILL NOT ACCOMMODATE A TRAILER. *** Motorcycle riders please take note*****If you need an earlier check in or later check out, we will try to make it happen.
