Conveniently located 12 miles from downtown Ellsworth, 24 miles from Acadia National Park, 29 miles from Bar Harbor, and 50 minutes from Bangor International Airport. -Hot Tub, Deck, and Fire Pit-Brand new hot tub arrived May 2024 along with a covered deck with string lights to enjoy the views of the water and warm up after a day exploring. Enjoy your complimentary morning coffee or tea watching the sunrise in rocking chairs on the deck and end the day with a smoke-free bonfire in the Solo Stove relaxing in Adirondack chairs. Don’t forget ingredients to make s’mores as you can find marshmallow roasting sticks in the kitchen. There is a gas grill and outdoor table that seats six surrounded by string lights that set the mood and turn the deck and outdoor seating area into a cozy entertaining space.-Kitchen and Dining Room-The kitchen comes fully equipped with all standard appliances, a Keurig with a coffee pot, electric kettle, french press, and more. The dining room is accented with a modern electric fireplace and table that seats six.-Living Room-The living room has a top of the line electric pellet stove for added warmth in the winter months and cold nights. There is also a brand new mini split with air conditioning and heating. The living room has a 55” Smart Roku TV that allows for unlimited streaming capability. You have the ability to log into your streaming services in "guest mode" that will automatically log you out of on the date of your departure. There is no cable TV. Cell phone service can be spotty in the area, but the house is equipped with high speed 300mbps WiFi. This is our favorite place to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, as the room is filled with natural light as the sun rises.There are decks of cards, board games, books, and two yoga mats for your enjoyment. We ask that you leave them at the property when you check-out for the next guests. -Bedroom 1 (The Blue Room)-One queen bed with a memory foam mattress, a private closet with two full-length mirrors, nightstand lights and an overhead light, and a portable tower fan.-Bedroom 2 (The Green Room)-One queen bed with a memory foam mattress, a private closet with one full-length wall mounted mirror, nightstand lights and an overhead light, and a portable tower fan.-The Loft-One queen bed with a memory foam mattress, a free-standing closet, and nightstand lights and an overhead fan-light combination.-Bathroom-Well lit, modern bathroom with two vanities and two mirrors. A hairdryer, plenty of hooks, storage, and shelf space throughout, in addition to a full shower/tub with high-pressure handheld shower head and wall mounted shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Clean,comfy,well stocked-off beaten path but very close to lots of things—15 min to Ellsworth, Acadia National Park starts at the top of the street and you’re surrounded-it’s all over (it encompasses Mt Desert Island, Bar Harbor & Winter Harbor). About 20 min to Winter Harbor, Schoodic Point, Hancock Point, Lamoine, approx 20-25 min to Mt Desert Island & Visitor Ctr, another 10 min from beginning of island- all depending on traffic-to Bar Harbor, Cadillac Mountain. So many places to stop along coast, tons of cute towns, art, antique shops along route 1... This isn’t just a sterile rental setup quickly to bang out fast cash. It’s our family home so it’s furnished just the way we like it, we rent it so we can afford to pay the bills. It’s an old house, not a fancy house, but to me & most people a very cozy & magical house. I want to reiterate that this is our house, it is old, it’s quirky, we LOVE it but it’s not perfect in every single way. If you’re looking for perfect or modern please go to the the Ritz Carlton where you can expect perfection & demand a refund if you aren’t getting it. I’m not striving for perfection here, my goal is a cozy, comfy, peaceful escape from the world. The windows are old held open by old fashioned window sticks & I don’t want to update them for convenience. I love the old windows, etc. I have a few fans & now 2 new air conditioners to use if you wish but the house is not a brand new, fully air- conditioned, modern house with every modern convenience. For me it’s about nature, simplicity, peace & quiet. It’s about a different way of life. It’s not the touristy trap of Bar Harbor. It’s the real down east Maine and Iove it! If that’s what you’re looking for then you’ve found it.However, the kitchen is fully stocked & very easy to cook in, there’s a microwave, toaster, blender, pretty much every appliance. Smart TVs upstairs & down. The kitchen & baths are updated & all appliances are new. Beds & bedding are new, clean & comfy. *PETS* i don’t particularly want dogs in the house -as the homeowner as it’s more wear an tear & extra cleaning, BUT I understand that we love our pet children & want them with us on vacation. There is an additional pet fee because I like to keep the house extremely clean & it takes my housecleaner a couple of more hours to clean after dogs have come. A few people have snuck in dogs & then I need to spend extra hours & money on cleaning which is not fair. I’ll send you double the cleaning bill if you choose to sneak your dog in without registering them & paying the pet fee which helps pay the cleaning bill & is also necessary for the insurance policy if your dog happens to destroy something. Please reg your pet & pay in advance. 🙏🏻 Or use zelle or PayPal if you wish to avoid Vrbo taxes and fees. Please don’t steal-Most people have been lovely but a few people think it’s OK to take whatever they want-those people were charged and the police were called. Please don’t do that. Our waterfront home is located on the tidal bay called Taunton Bay and Mill Brook. The house is a great blend of a traditional Downeast farmhouse with modern amenities. Wasgatt Point, or as we call it, "the point", is a short walk down the driveway to watch the sunrise, admire Schoodic and Cadillac Mountains or pick blueberries when in season. See osprey, eagles and other wildlife from the kitchen table. In the month of May, watch the Alewives, a type of fish, make their way up the brook to spawn which brings lots of action to the water. Bring your kayaks to explore the bay where you may see seals or your bikes to explore Acadia and The Downeast Sunrise Trail. Trail parking is only a couple miles away where you can unload your ATV's and travel downeast. We are 10 miles from Ellsworth, 26 miles to Bar Harbor, 20 miles to Winter Harbor, the Schoodic Peninsula portion of Acadia National Park and 38 miles from Bangor.
