It has to be said that the Steeps is a challenging hill, even in a car, maybe especially in a car if you meet someone coming the other way! However it is worth going up there if only for the views across the very top of God's Own Country - head out towards Burnley and gasp at the views over the moors. You could even stop for a reviver in the Kettle Drum pub at the end of that moor road, which doe good food and is pet friendly. * There are numerous pubs, cafes and unique shops in and around Hebden Bridge with always a lot going on. The Fox & Goose is just up the road towards Hebden and unusual by being a community owned pub with a great selection of real ale and wine.
