Just 500 feet south of Minnewaska State Park, this rustic 1874 farm house is a warm gathering place for friends and family. Enjoy 2+ acres with north and west facing porches. The dining room accommodates 10 and the cabinets are stocked with lots of games.Dogs are welcome! Please let me know if you will be bringing a dog as there is a n additional $50 fee.Enjoy a serene visit to recharge, hike, climb or whatever you desire.The spaceThese are two houses that were connected towards the end of the 1800s. The original farm house stands on a 24" thick stone foundation built in 1874. The smaller house was meticulously moved and attached to the rear of the original house to create even more space.The house maintains so many original details and the deep character that old homes have.Guest accessYou'll be able to access the whole home except the basement and attic.Other things to noteThis home is absolutely a pleasure to spend time in however, it should be noted, that like most homes of this age, there are a few quirks.I bought the house a bit more than two years ago. When I bought it, there was old wallpaper on the walls and 100 years of junk through the house. Since then, I've stripped wall paper, refinished the walls and painted the rooms. A lot of the things I found in the house were re-purposed or put on display. I've had a great time making many improvements however, the house will always be an old home and it has some rough edges. This would include things like floors that are smooth but not yet refinished and some areas with linoleum floors. If you have any concerns or questions about staying in a house of this age, please reach out to me before you book; I'll be happy to answer any questions.The house is large, furnished with nice beds, clean linens, wifi, towels, a large TV and many other things. It is perfect for relaxing, reading, listening to music on our central Sonos device or watching TV. On cold evening, turn on the fireplace to keep cozy and warm. You will have access to a fully equipped modern kitchen with granite countertops and new high-end appliances. Plenty of counter space to cook, gather and eat around the kitchen. The coffee machines are prefect for coffee lovers. There are also 2 grills (gas and charcoal) outside for the guests who love to grill. For more formal meals, the dining room has a table that fits 8-10 surrounded by windows that offer a view of the surrounding property. After dinner spend some time around the wet bar catching upon your day and planning your next day. At the end of your day retire to the 4 available bedrooms. The master bedroom will have a king size bed, two bedrooms will have queen size beds, and the last bedroom will have a full size bunk bed. All of the beds have ultra-soft comforter and bed sheets to ensure a great night’s sleep. If weather allows please take advantage of our fire pit, pool or hot tub in the backyard. The private backyard creates a quiet and serene environment perfect for relaxing. The Sonos music systems allows you to play music outside to create the perfect environment. This two-level house has a beautiful open layout, and tons of light in the spacious common areas. The living room is all windows, facing out to the lake. The huge primary bedroom has en suite bathroom and the main level has two additional bedrooms, one of which has a full/twin bunk bed, the other has a lovely antique full bed.
