Less than 200 feet from the front door are hiking trails leading to the neighborhood ponds. The neighborhood features 200 acres of open space for hiking, biking, and volleyball.There is ample parking in front of the home (space for 3 cars). The home is located on a private easement shared with a few other neighbors. Because of this, there is almost no traffic on that road. We do ask that you be courteous of our neighbors and stick to the designated parking spaces.WINTER:To get to Sunset Haven, you’ll be on paved roads the entire time with the exception of the 100 foot easement (rare for mountain properties!) Please use caution and do not approach the animals. Please do not leave kiddos in the open without supervision as the property shares boundary with Pikes National forest. We have had the occasional bear visitor. It's essential to keep the trash can locked in the garage and never leave food in your car or outside. Bears can open car doors, so please keep your car locked. While staying with us, you could encounter snow storms and other weather-related conditions. Please consider whether cabin life is right for you before booking.FIRES & SMOKING: Open fires are NOT allowed. Feel free to enjoy the ELECTRIC fireplace in the main level dining room and the propane tabletop fireplace on the main level balcony. Your cleaning fee pays our cleaner to take care of the rest, including washing all linens and restocking the cabin for the next guest. It takes our cleaner approximately 6 hours to clean the house even after an excellent guest.WEEKLY HOT TUB UPKEEP: Please note every Monday or Tuesday, hot tub maintenance swings by to ensure the hot tub is in great shape. If the hot tub needs to be filled, he might ring the doorbell. Please follow hot tub rules posted near the hot tub. During winter, area near the hot tub may be slippery, please use caution. Chemicals are used to balance the water in the hot tub, some people may have sensitive skin, hence, use it as your per your own discretion. PLEASE shower before & after using the hot tub. If the water turns bad, the guest will be billed at cost ($250). Please DO NOT sit on the hot tub cover as it can break and costs ($800) will be billed to the guests. DO NOT put dish soap or any other soap in the tub, you will be sent a bill for all the repairs. This 5000 square foot cabin sits on 37 acres with AMAZING 8500 elevation mountain views from every room. Get cozy sitting by the crackling fire sipping your coffee. Just a couple miles to the 285 highway and restaurants in Bailey, the Treehouse Adventure Park, the wedding venue, and borders the National Forest. Enjoy a quick hike in the backyard or a long trek in the adjacent National Forest or even hunt during the hunting season. The open main level has all reclaimed barn wood floors, large windows, and a beautiful log staircase. You will enjoy cooking for your party with the extensive island, copper farmhouse sink, 6 burner gas stove, double ovens and BBQ. The second story has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (3 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms). The master bedroom has an attached sitting area with recliners and TV, and the master bathroom is currently dated but functional and scheduled for a remodel. The walk out daylight basement features game and exercise areas, and an additional bunk room for sleeping. You will find ping pong, pool table, electronic basketball hoop game, and foosball in the basement. Half baths are on the main and basement levels. This lodge like house has been remodeled in almost every area. In this spectacular house, you will find a few areas that are indicative of a remodel in progress such as some missing trim or drywall needing texture. Even with that the house is impressive. Current beds- 1 king, 4 queens, 3 twins, pack and play (upon request). Dirt road leads from the highway to the house and as such, is bumpy in spots.
