When traveling to Anhui for the first time, I did not choose the more famous Hongcun, but Chengkan, which has a niche reputation. The proprietress of this B&B is very enthusiastic, arranges pick-up and drop-off for guests, and is very patient no matter how late the guests arrive. The breakfast was hearty and delicious, and was given as a small gift when checking out. Beautiful Chengkan has mountains and rivers. Although there are no mountains or lakes, a quick walk in the ancient villages can calm your impetuous mind. If you are tired of the fast pace of big cities, why not stay here for a while and listen to the chirping of crickets and frogs at night... If you have been to Chengkan, you will never have troubles in your life.

It is said on the Internet that the Internet celebrity little wooden bridge is very popular, so I specially added a day trip to Xixi South, and it is easy to park here. The children liked the swimming pool, so they booked Qingxi Hanyue directly. Considering that there were more people coming, I asked the housekeeper to open a room with a good view on the third floor. It happened that the water change of the hotel swimming pool was about to end. I also had a barbecue at the event hotel. I watched a movie at night. The children had a lot of fun in the water, but it was hard for the adults to stand by the pool. [Wow] Overall, it was a good experience. like it!

Environment: Located in the center of the scenic area, the scenery is great, but it's a pity that the windows of the old house are not floor-to-ceiling windows. The breakfast restaurant is also very beautiful.
Facilities: The sound insulation is relatively poor, you can hear the voices, and the wooden boards creak.
Food: The breakfast is relatively poor, porridge + pickled vegetable fried dough sticks + wontons/noodles + poached eggs, the taste is quite satisfactory. The Ouyuan next door is also their restaurant, expensive, small, and not delicious. I ordered a stewed bamboo shoot with bacon, which felt like a pre-prepared dish, very salty, and the steamed pork with rice flour was almost a whole portion of fat. The ice cream in the dessert shop is not bad, and the Huangshan Maofeng flavor is delicious.

I rarely review accommodation, but this time I really want to praise this B&B. A very good stay experience. I want to give this B&B 5 stars➕. The room is very clean and tidy, with a full sense of design. Every corner has been given an artistic touch by the boss. The colors are warm and relaxing. The bedding is very comfortable. The surrounding area It's quiet, the air is good, and it's rare to sleep until dawn. There is a large projector in the lobby to watch movies and a massage bed to relax. The boss and his family are very nice. They drink tea and chat in a relaxed and casual manner, without feeling like outsiders. The breakfast is great, rich in variety, delicious and beautiful. There are a lot of elegant and textured tableware. The boss's skill in preparing the dinner is also very good and delicious~ The store has attentive service and even tables and chairs for the little ones are prepared, which is really satisfying People don’t want to leave even if they are here!

Chengkan is beautiful. The B&B is an old courtyard renovated, which is great! Especially the lotus pond is right at the door of the B&B. You can see the scenery without leaving the B&B. It is recommended to stay there.

The store didn't let me help with the evaluation. After struggling for a long time, I decided to give a good review - because I think it's really good. I'm afraid that too many people will book it if the evaluation is too good, and the price will increase or it will not be booked next time. Hahahahaha~ I stayed for 12 hours and wanted to take 120 photos. It's a very small and beautiful hotel. The garden design is beautiful, the interior design is convenient, and the key is that the price-performance ratio is really high. And it breaks my perception of homestays. I always think that the management of homestays may have some problems and the hygiene may not be in place, but this one is really super clean. It's the only homestay where you can take a bath with confidence. All service staff are very good. They have basic confirmation of the itinerary pick-up station and will help coordinate the arrangements for guests. The toiletries are also very easy to use. After taking a bath, you can go directly to the public bathroom. Although it is also small, the toiletries are complete. In short, the design is full of humanistic care everywhere. The overall feeling is comparable to that of a high-end hotel. The tea sent is also very fragrant. Before leaving, a small bag of tea was sent as a souvenir.
The only drawback is not the hotel but the scenic spot. Although Xixinan has become popular online and commercially bustling, the overall hotel and shopping facilities are not yet very complete (mainly reflected in the fact that when I was taking a bath too comfortably and wanted to order a milk tea, I found that there was no takeout from the chain milk tea shops around, hahahahahaha)

Environmental location: Invincible environment mountain view, the scenery is too beautiful. It is very close to the South Gate, and the hotel provides free pick-up and drop-off at the transfer center. Hygiene: very clean. It was my first time to challenge Huangshan. I was attracted by the praise in the comment area when I was looking for a room a month ago. I chose this B&B. It was really a surprise! The room is clean and tidy. The round bathtub is large enough. The boss also thoughtfully prepared a disposable bath bag. After a long day of walking down the mountain from Huangshan, it is very comfortable to take a bath. It is very suitable to follow the second brother's route. The two bosses also prepared it carefully. We were given hiking poles, which were very practical. We had a panoramic view of Mount Huangshan from the back mountain to the front mountain and down the mountain! The two owners of the B&B were very attentive and considerate. The eldest brother takes care of the flowers and plants, and the second brother handles the cooking. The private dishes are delicious and reasonably priced, even cheap. It doesn't feel like it's for profit, it's just like entertaining friends. The smelly mandarin fish, fried meat, and stir-fried vegetables are all delicious. My second brother said that around May, the most beautiful scenery is in the Wizard of Oz. I will definitely bring my parents to play if I have the chance~

GGregMII chose the 0517 hotel after reading great reviews, and they were not wrong! Starting with the simple things, the location is so convenient being in the part of town nearest the park’s south entrance. You can walk there in ~15 minutes, passing several options for a street food breakfast along the way. There is also a good selection of restaurants for dinner, and a very nice bakery to pick up snacks for the day. The long distance buses arrive at a bus station a few km away, but the hotel will arrange the pickup for you, free of charge.
The hotel’s design in the rooms and shared spaces is very modern & clean, in a style appreciated by westerners. The rooms are on the small side, but have everything you need.
Leaving the best point until last – the highlight here is the customer service provided by the owner Timo and his staff. 11/10! Nothing is too much trouble, they will help you with everything from trip planning, to organizing local shared taxi to surrounding areas, to storing luggage, or whatever. On both the nights there, I had a long, friendly chat with him and a couple of others over a drink in the evening. Felt more like being his personal guest than being in a hotel. HIGHLY recommended!

JjenniferFollow the navigation, it's easy to find. The boss has arranged a parking space, just opposite the homestay. The room is very clean, and Xiao Ai is smart throughout the whole process. Double rooms and double bathrooms, very friendly for two generations to sleep! Disposable bath towels and snacks are also given~~. Special note: Disposable slippers are available! It is very close to Tunxi Old Street when you go out, and you can go to Liyang Old Street on the opposite bank after shopping, which is very convenient. When leaving the store, the boss also specially guided a road without traffic lights to Tangmo. Give the boss a thumbs up👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

GGuest UserMy family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise.
The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days.
At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us.
Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

XXuelangyiAs an authentic Huizhou native who left home when I was young, I came to Hongcun and met Zhang Gongguan for the first time, but I was amazed by the whole ink painting Qingming. After walking through the streets and alleys, I finally found the low-key house number. I opened a small door and opened a paradise. The antique Ming and Qing Dynasty old houses, restored in the Hui-style style, and simple and elegant furniture make people feel like they have traveled through time and space and returned to the prosperous ancient Huizhou of the past. In the front hall and back yard, the centuries-old mottled walls are paired with the black and white colors of Qingming rain, but it also has a sense of vicissitudes like ”in the old days, when kings went to the hall and swallows flew into the homes of ordinary people”, it was as if they were in a Chinese ink painting. This is an old house with a history of 300 years. It is located in the core scenic area of Hongcun. It only takes 3 minutes to walk to Moon Marsh. There are many types of guest rooms with different styles. Almost all of them feature Chinese retro style. The carved wooden beds, wooden couches and dressing tables are all antique designs. The calligraphy, paintings and porcelain in the room highlight the famous Hui school. The door is an antique wooden door latch. key. The facilities in the bathroom are absolutely high-end. Dyson hair dryers and Hermès bath products are both rich in history and considerate. The owner lives with his guests and has four cats, several courtyards, and a beautiful swimming pool. The guests can drink tea and relax while leaning on the garden view. The butler's service was extremely attentive. He asked about the soundproofing at night, prepared a heart-warming breakfast in the morning, took our luggage all the way from the parking lot to the CI, dragged our luggage up the narrow stairs of the old house, and used a small electric donkey to carry our luggage again before we left. Return to the parking lot. I want to say here that the wooden stairs in the old Hui-style houses are narrow and shaky, and the sound insulation between the rooms is not very good. If you come to immerse yourself in the old house life, don’t complain and pay more attention to yourself. In short, this place really made my impression of Hongcun become more beautiful and full of nostalgia. It is undoubtedly the best private hotel in the village, and it feels like a dream that I will never wake up from.

GGuest UserMy stay in Tingquan Xiaoyuan has been absolutely delightful.
I booked a long stay here as a retreat and break from the work and it is exactly everything I need to unwind and recharge.
The guesthouse ran by a husband and wife team are so hospitable and go the extra mile to make sure my stay here is relaxing and I have everything I need to work and go about my day.
The room i am staying in is very brightly lighted with a desk for me to work. I have to say the bed is also very comfortable and I have been sleeping well every night.
The surrounding is so peaceful and tranquil, with gardens and flowers and mountain peaks in the distance. I am rather glad I am staying here in the valley instead of near the centre.
In terms of service, the boss is very helpful and responsive to my messages when we need to ask any question or require a pick up after the hikes. The lady boss is similarly extremely friendly, warm and kind and ensure my needs and well being is looked after every day. She cared for me like her own family.
I really appreciate them going the extra mile to help a foreigner like me who struggle with the language.
I would strongly recommend this lovely and cosy guesthouse to any local and foreigner who is looking for an amazing visit to Huangshan for a few days or up to a month. They will ensure you are well taken care of and your stay is absolutely delightful.

GGuest UserA very satisfying stay! The room is large, with simple decoration style, complete facilities, and a clean and tidy environment. I chose the second floor to see the distant scenery, which is great! The surrounding area is quiet and not far from various attractions.
The boss is very considerate and helped arrange carpooling, pick us up at the entrance of the scenic spot, and also provided a tour route. I will stay here again next time I come to play~

AAnonymous UserThe boss was very enthusiastic and picked us up at the station. It is more convenient to stay in a B&B in the scenic area and the location is easy to find. We live on the first floor. The only disadvantage is that it is not very soundproof. There is a lot of noise when walking around upstairs. Everything else is Good

GGuest UserThe rooms are really clean and nice, location is near the waterfall, from which you can hike up to the mountain if you’re a serious hiker. It’s family owned hotel so everything is very authentic. The hosts are very kind and welcoming, helped us a lot with planning and organising the route for our hikes and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible.
