I am staying with my family at the Hyatt Vacation Club next door to the Hyatt Regency. There are no chargers available for hotel guests at the Hyatt Vacation Club. We were told at check in that since the EVgo Charger at Raley’s is out of order, we would be allowed to use the EV Charger at the Hyatt Regency. Note - for non-Tesla EV drivers, Incline Village does not have any fast charging infrastructure available for other EV’s. Because of this, I did not charge my car in Carson City before coming up to Incline Village. When I arrived at the Hyatt Regency Valet to charge my car, there was no valet attendant visible. After waiting nearly ten minutes, we went inside and found someone. We asked the Hyatt Regency valet attendant politely if we could use the charger as there were NO OTHER CARS charging in the FIVE available chargers, and the valet flatly told me no. We explained that we were guests at the Vacation Club next door, what we were told about being able to use the charger, and that the EV Charger at Raley’s was out of order, and the valet again flatly refused to allow us to charge for even a few hours. The man suggested to “try Raley’s” again, even though I had told him the charger was down. When we called the Hyatt Regency directly to explain our frustration at this level of terrible customer service, we spoke with the “Acting Front Desk Manager” who then offered to allow us to charge for $50 as an overnight valet parking. As I only need a couple hours of charging to get to Carson City, this is unacceptable. The Hyatt Vacation Club is nice enough, but they need to get their communication in order with the sister property next-door. It is absurd that as guests of the Vacation Club we have access to all the amenities of the Hyatt Regency, EXCEPT the EV Charging? Make it make sense! We have come to expect much more from Hyatt and this level of indifference for their guests is simply unacceptable.
