We had a great stay! The best thing about Casa Nemo is the staff. Everyone was tremendously friendly, sweet, helpful and professional. The location of the resort is breathtaking. Perfectly maintained. Beautiful plants. Our bungelow overlooked the sea. From the resort we could walk directly onto the beach. I spent several days snorkeling. I saw a turtle, unicorn fish, barracuda, lobster, eel and other fish. The beach is a bit rocky, so bring water shoes. The food at the restaurant is great. My favorite were the nasi goreng and banana pancakes. The resort has its own spa. I did a 2.5-hour treatment by Brata. It was fantastic.

The resort is composed by a main building incorporating kitchen and a big hall with restaurant overlooking the andaman sea, plus about 15 wooden bungalows in acehnese style set along an escarpment leading to the beach.Eun gioevery unit, while spartan, has all modern amenities as: bathroom, verandah and fans (thanks God no AC). There are no numbers and each lodging is denominated by marine fauna,as: Stella di Mare,Anemona, ecc. The intent is to give the guests a full immersion in tropical forest among huge trees and flowers cascades. All the paths starting from the top and leading down to the beach and bungalows , have been conceived to be unobtrusive and well melded with the environment. Entering the place and staying here for few days I have had the impression that every detail has been taken care of and relentlessly ameliorated with time. The same care for the environment has been used in shaping the performance of the personnel which is top-notch starting from the gardeners, restaurant service and up to the three employees of the reception always alert and ready to solve any problem and give informations. I will never forget: Junie,Tegar and Putria always ready to help and explain. I wish as well mention and thank the owners for their work in enhancing the capacities of the local people.

I think the breakfast was the best one I tried from all the hotels I stayed in Indonesia. It is a beautiful place in front of a spectacular beach. The personnel and their manager, Junie, helped me with every question and request. They were super warm and welcoming and I'm very grateful :)

Hotel is an oasis very relaxing and room facilities really good. June the public relations manager is superb and really looked after us. We didn’t have air con but as the weather took a turn for the worst we didn’t really need it. Had a lot of rain which was a shame put typical for this time of year we are told. Pula weh is a very quiet sleepy location and although nice for a few days 3 days would have really been enough. Restaurant at this hotel is fab with the best coffee we have had since being in Sumatra. Hired motor bikes and tried to find the listed sights but failed as signposts in Pula Weh none existent. Hotel, restaurant worth a visit but a little bit too quiet for us as an active family and a little bit more nightlife or restaurant choices would have been good however the reviews of this island did state it was very quiet, so we should have taken this on board. Coral and fish are amazing and we did do a short snoring trip and fishing trip between downpours of rain and this was lovely

This was our first visit to the island and we found it hard to work out where to stay. We settled on this beach area, on the basis that this might be calmer than the backpackers area at Iboih beach which was a good choice. We contemplated Freddie's because so many sites seemed to recommend it. My goodness! Casa Nema is SO MUCH better! It's an absolute delight of a place. The accommodation is charming, it's in a lovely tropical garden setting, the staff and owner are wonderful, and the restaurant is so stylish with great food. The snorkeling right in front of Casa Nemo is really good, and safer than Iboih in that there are no boats to collide with. There's also a 'speak easy' beach bar with occasional live music. The pace was gentle and the standards were high. I feel we struck gold with this one.

Our stay at Casanemo was unforgettable, the combination of beautiful location, every staff was friendly, professional and eager to assist, the dining experience was a highlight with beautiful ocean view as a backdrop and with amazing authentic Indonesian to delicious Italian cuisine. The beachfront cafe also wonderful and we can do swimming , snorkelling or just relax on the beach.

I revisited Pulau Weh for the fourth time and stayed at Casa Nemo again. This time, we had the sea view room. As always, the gardens, the view, the people, and the food were excellent. However, the bathroom shows ageing signs, especially the tiles; the resort owner may consider using a drill brush or water jet to give it a fresh look. Our stay was memorable, and I will return in a heartbeat....soon :)

We had an amazing time at Casa Nemo. Beautiful resort right on the beach. Room was clean as advertised. We chose no air conditioning for sea breeze. Room had a fan and provided mosquito netting. Water was also provided. Fresh watermelon juice daily for breakfast and the best pizzas along with local food. Junie was a great hostess and always available and accommodating in assisting us explore options on the island. She organised pick up and drop off from airport in Banda Aceh to the port for local ferry and transfer from the island to the resort. We were fortunate enough to meet Mr Happy a local Tuk Tuk driver who you can hire for the day to show you the Island. Highly recommend to anyone considering an amazing place to stay. We stay here for one night and travel with family. 2 families got a deluxe room with aircond. My room and another family at the villa. What i i can say the villa looks run down, smelly towel and no aircond. Not recommended to family with a kids or senior citizen. The sunset and seaview was so beautiful. The worst part was at night. Its spooky, hot, lots of mosquito and the challenging part that we’ve been disturb by the ghost! We cannot sleep and restless. We heard the sharp nail scratching the wall and the bed net continuously. Our bed also has been shake! Thanks god our kids sleep well without noticing the disturbance.please change the light bulb in the villa and along the path walk. I felt like walking into ghost villa and its proven! It is too dark and dangerous walking at night. I didnt meant to give a bad review just to share my experienced and heads up others to think twice to stay at this place. Thank you

The Hotel Casa Nemo is a beautiful place. The restaurant is located above the accommodations and offers a fantastic view of the sea. The food is very good and varied. There is even very tasty pizza. But of course there are also lots of local dishes. The bar on the beach below is a gem. You can eat delicious dishes and snacks there from 1 pm until the evening. I absolutely recommend the Aceh noodles. Delicious. They also serve beer if you ask for it. The fresh juices are very fine and there is plenty of choice. The spa is very nicely done and the massages are very professional and pleasant. The selection of treatments is very large - it's worth trying out several treatments. The value for money is really great. We also booked our tours through reception and got the best tour guide on the whole island in Mr Happy. We were absolutely thrilled with him and only did our tours with him. He speaks fantastic English (not a given on Pulau Weh or Sumatra) and has an enormous amount of knowledge about his island. We travelled all around the island with him and his tuk-tuk and saw some wonderful places. Thanks to him, we got a great insight into a beautiful region. He showed us so much and was always courteous and helpful. He is a reason to come back to Pulau Weh. We can only recommend Mr Happy to everyone. He also works for Freddies Resort a few metres away. The hotel goes to great lengths to prevent waste and doesn’t use any single-use plastic products. Water is always available free of charge. In this way they can avoid using plastic water bottles. There are large refillable water containers in the rooms. Absolute pioneers!

We have had the privilege of visiting Weh Island again and again for over 15 years and have mostly stayed at Casa Nemo. It is impressive to see how this place has developed over the years. The owners have invested a lot into providing friendly and quality services to their guests. With every expansion they did, they tried to be mindful of the environment and local culture. Among their latest acquisitions are two traditional Acehnese houses (Rumoh Aceh) which would otherwise face rotting away. They have set them up on their property not only for guests to enjoy, but also for the local community to hold gatherings or practice traditional dances - this new space has, quite befittingly, been named "Aceh Heritage". The whole property is very green and bungalows, sun deck and restaurant area have been constructed with great care and design. Sitting at the restaurant it is easy to "chill away" an afternoon with a light breeze and lovely view of the sea. The staff have been carefully selected and trained. This does not necessarily mean that everything is flawless - but everything is done with a smile and with a view to making the guests feel welcome. The food is great and prices are absolutely reasonable. Even though Casa Nemo is not located where most of the dive shops are (many dive centres offer pick-up), we always stay there because of everything else it has to offer: beautiful beach, great food, quiet and comfortable accommodation, lovely views, massages and other treatments, wonderful staff and always something new to experience. We certainly look forward to the next 15 years of regular visits to one of our top holiday destinations and one of the best places we have stayed at. Patrick and Dina (from Germany)

We have stayed in Casa Nemo as two families traveling together. The resort was very beautiful, situated right on the seashore, there are lots of stairs though. The bungalows were modest but pretty, clean and providing what we needed (drinking water, towels, soap, shampoo). We think it would be nice to have AC in both rooms. Meals were also tasteful. Right next to the hotel there is a coral reef, perfect for snorkeling. The staff spoke english. They were incredibly nice and caring, especially June, who helped us a lot with organisation of trips within the island. We recommend the tuk tuk trip throughout the island, the boat trip to the coral reef and the massages. The time spent in Casa Nemo was relaxing and chill, very pleasing.

This is a beautiful small eco-focussed resort with extraordinarily beautiful grounds and cozy bungalows, all with fabulous views. The beach is narrow but there is great seating above the sea wall and the water is wonderful. Great snorkelling just off shore with lots of fish and healthy, colourful coral. Gracious and friendly staff. There is an excellent spa and two restaurants on site. It is thought built on a steep site and so not great for people with significant mobility issues. The bungalows do not have air conditioning consisten with the resort philosophy but are well placed for breezes with individual hammock equipped balconies. The fans as a result keep the rooms cool and comfortable. I only wish we had more time here. Totally relaxing.

I had a nice stay at Casa Nemo. The bungalows have beautiful views and excellent hammocks for lounging. They have lock boxes, fans, fridges, as well as a water dispenser for purified hot or cold water. The massages are wonderful, and the staff goes out of their way to be helpful. My only recommendation would be to put doors on the stairs leading up to the bottom bungalows. That way no one accidentally gets to wander onto someone else’s porch, and guests could leave the doors open at night to get a breeze. Here are a few “pro tips” that will hopefully make your stay excellent: - When booking, check to see if they have any events or large groups scheduled. Otherwise the restaurant access may be limited, or you may be listening to loud music all night. - If you have snorkeling gear, bring it. The hotel can organize them for a daily fee, but the equipment may be of variable state. - Get the day and night managers’ What’sApp numbers. There are no phones in the bungalows, so if something happens or you need anything your only choice is to run up five flights of stairs. - The restaurant has beer if you ask. For all other cocktail options head down the beach to Freddie’s. - Ask for beach towels. - If you have an outdoor bathroom (which I personally love), be prepared for it to be covered in leaves on windy days or for it to rain in. Bungalows do not get cleaned daily, but I presume they would send someone if you asked. - The mosquito nets don’t quite cover the bed. If you’re prone to getting bitten, bring your own. - There is excellent Wi-Fi at the restaurant but not in the bungalows. Prepare accordingly or choose lodging close to the restaurant.
