Grand Aquarium

This was our first time visiting Turkey as a family we have fallen in love with the country. We had Such an enjoyable experience and the hotel was fabulous, self catering apartments with well equipped kitchenette, and microwave. We had a two bedroom apartment which was perfect for our family. The pool was great for the kids who had a whale of a time and was well positioned so we could get around on the dolmus or in the car we had hired. Saliye and her team are amazing and have the place running like clockwork, no request was too much and she would greet each and every one of the guests by name, no mean feat when the hotel is exceptionally busy. Food was good in the onsite restaurant bar and wait staff were very accommodating and house keeping kept on top of any mess.

This is the 3rd time visiting our "happy place" As soon as you arrive at reception on your first day you are joining the aquarium family, as that is what every member of staff from the management all the way to the background staff make you feel like. Saliye goes above and beyond to make your stay the best experience ever, the entertainment team are fantastic especially Cedric and GiGi, they can brighten the darkest room with their ability to include everyone. Ali , Mehmet and their team in hospitality cannot do enough for you either, nothing is too much trouble, they all work tirelessly to accommodate everyone. The rooms have been refurbished to a high standard and are cleaned daily, the whole of the family areas are spotless . I could go on and on but I'll just say that we will be booking again for later this year and again for next year, The Grand Aquarium Icmeler is without a doubt the jewel in the crown of icmeler, it may be a bit of a distance to the town and beach but the hotel runs a shuttle bus to beach daily, there is a bus stop 100 yards away to take you into town or Marmaris for 40trl each which is brilliant. I have spent many years in the travel industry so have an understanding of clients differing opinions with regards to what is expected from their holiday. I very rarely submit reviews but feel compelled on this occasion given the wonderful time my friend and I had. We returned from our 11night stay yesterday the 6th June. and throughout that time Saliye and her team excelled in ensuring we had the best possible holiday. We stayed in an annexe apartment 923 which was immaculate in every sense providing us with everything we needed if we decided to cater for ourselves which on the odd occasion we did. The main part of the hotel has a restaurant which we never visited so can’t comment personally however we spoke to guests who highly recommended the cuisine offered and said it was very good value. We opted to eat in the many varied restaurants in Iclemer which is approximately a 15 minute walk from the hotel. On our second day we booked a full treatment at the spa on Saliyr’s recommendation and I’m so very glad we did. It was excellent and worth every penny so a big thank you to the two wonderful members of staff who looked after us. My friend also took advantage of a pedicure and eyebrow threading and highly recommends both. As we didn’t partake in the daytime/evening activities there were some members of staff sadly we didn’t get to meet, however the staff we did meet from the lovely gentleman who was up at the crack of dawn cleaning the pool and surrounding area to the team of cleaning ladies who kept the apartments spotless to the reception staff, once again our heartfelt thanks for making sure our stay was the best it could possibly be. This hotel has recognised that customer service is key! Saliye your commitment to your clients is a breath of fresh air so on behalf of Helen and myself thank you, we will hopefully see you again! Finally I must address the issues which have been raised concerning Wifi and air conditioning. We opted not to purchase either and given we had mobile data we didn’t find it inconvenient. When we did connect to the WiFi we managed quite nicely by going onto our balcony which worked well. Air conditioning as has been mentioned is available at a cost however we found the fans we took with us were adequate and served their purpose. We did opt to hire a safe which cost us £15 for the duration of our holiday which we were more than happy to pay After such a wonderful holiday when we departed for the airport I realised I had left my lovely swimsuit drying in the sunshine next to the toilet facilities near the annexe pool. If by any chance it has found its way to lost property I would love to have it returned to me and would be most happy to pay the costs. Thank you all once again Grand Aquarium. We Just back from the grand aquarium hotel I’m may it was the best holiday we have ever had. Everyone was amazing place was amazing eveyone bends over backwards for u . Love all the staff very lovely people sally was very friendly always asking how we were and hello every single day . the entertainment staff were brilliant all the restaurant guys also amazing I’ll defo be going back would recommend this to any one

We have just got back from a 10 day holiday at the Grand Aquarium, This was a kind of experiment for us as we always go all-inc in Turkey, with this being our first self catering trip, and first time in Icmeler, just to see if it was cost effective, so I'll be as honest as possible. We arrived in the early hours of the morning, around 2.30am, we were given a warm welcome and our cases were taken to our room for us by some very friendly and helpful staff, so first impressions were great, however, when shown to our room we were quite shocked at just how small the rooms were, way smaller than they looked on the pictures, this was a one bedroom room in the annex just next to the main hotel, we are a family of 4 with a 7 and 13yr old, and we knew that the kids would have the bedroom and we would have the pull out sofa bed, however, when the sofa bed was out there is no more room...anywhere, it takes up the whole living area, and the only place to put your clothes away is in the bedroom, that's four suitcases worth of clothes in 1 wardrobe with around 10 coat hangers, and there is nowhere to put your suitcases either, so upon discovering this I went back down to reception to see if there were any bigger rooms available, it couldn't be sorted then but we were told to come back the following morning to speak to Saliye, so we stayed packed and did that, this has to be said though, while doing this I asked if there was anywhere we could get some water and milk, and the guy behind reception actually sent someone out on a motorbike to the shop for us which was incredibly helpful of him and was very much appreciated. The next afternoon we eventually caught up with Saliye who is genuinely one of the hardest working, helpful and friendliest people I have ever met, and she managed to secure us a 2 bedroom room for 7 days, this cost us an extra £180 which I thought was excessive seeing as the actual hotel bill was only £330 anyway, but I payed it because I really didn't see us enjoying the holiday crammed into the original room, this room was so much better, having the extra bedroom meant we could at least unpack, although the double bed in the extra bedroom had the hardest bed I have ever slept on, I woke up aching most mornings, and the bedding they give you which is a waffle sheet and a blanket is really not great (in the first room we got the blanket had holes in it too) So that was the first bump in the road, but we were sorted at least. The following week was great even though the weather was not so much, I think we got every season thrown at us, one day it didn't stop raining at all and weirdly, when the rain was bad the water would go out, something to do with the council, this happened twice for a few hours each time which was not ideal, you couldn't even flush the toilets, there were a lot of disgruntled people when this happened but it was no fault of the hotel apparently. I stayed in with my partner and two sons for 10 days and what can I say we had an amazing time and had no complaints. Staff are very friendly from reception to the bar staff and entertainment team were also amazing. We did not want to come home. As a self catering hotel the food was amazing and priced reasonably and big portions too. Entertainment is like all hotels we didn't do the pool party as we were out but it looked like a lot of fun. Yes you have to pay for air con we paid £70 for 10 days which was good. We had a late flight home and was able to keep our room on for £40. We had an amazing time and would definitely return to this hotel. Thank you for an amazing holiday and will see you again soon
