Very friendly staff, good food and nice swimming pool, highly recommended. Good location and nice bike paths. Plenty to do outside include visit the old hot tub, in walking distance from the hotel. The breakfast has everything what you need for a good start.

Best keept secret. All in one. Food, Icelandic nature and peaceful place. Swimming pool, nature pool, historic places, restaurant and great rooms. Fyrsta flokks matur, Frábær þjónusta og rólegt andrúmsloft í sveitasælu.

Ive visited last night for 1 night and everything was amazing! The hostess accepted us with a smile on her face and helped us with everything we asked. We booked triple room, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very tasty! Go visit!

This spot was on our list of hot springs to visit, so I can't say anything about the hotel in general. The hot pool is free and has a quaint little changing room that you can see in the pictures for the hotel. It is just a short walk up the hill from the parking area, and is a nice way to take a break from driving.

Accommodation options in this part of Iceland are limited. Hótel Laugar Sælingsdal is a coverted school dormitory and, if you approach your stay there with that in mind, realizing you have few other options, you'll be fine. The rooms are small, minimalistic but clean. It was in the description, but not having a private bathroom/shower is, at the very least, inconvenient and more than a little wierd. Modulate your expectations and you'll be fine.

We camped by the hotel which is located in a gorgeous area. There are three waterfalls, bountiful hiking trails and a superb old-school outdoor pool. The staff was amazingly hospitable, friendly, and amicable.
