I booked the hotel but didn't stay because I booked the wrong date. It is true that the booking is under no refund if cancel or amend the booking. After realizing that my property was booked on the wrong date, I approached trip.com and they informed me that they would contact me back with feedback within 30 mins to an hour. I called them in the afternoon, and they finally contacted me back at 8pm. Trip.com called and told me that there was extra charge for changing the date and the extra charge had to settle within 30 mins. I agreed with the charge but I also told trip.com that I was not able to make a paymemt at the moment they requested. They didn't tell me that this is urgency. They only reschedule the call to the next day.
In the next day call, they said they need to recheck again if the hotel still allowed the amendment and the charge could be higher than yesterday. I was frustrated. This is unproductive. They failed to make me understand why the extra charge was increased. This is probably the first and last time I would used this online travel agent to reserve my accommodation
