The kitchenette has a microwave, mini-fridge, French press, and dishes. There is fiber to the building, so Wi-Fi service should not degrade, even when using multiple devices.*This apartment is up a flight of stairs. There is no elevator.*Nearby, there are restaurants and coffee shops, a local community arts center, Downtown Friday Nights (an outdoor concert series during the summer), acoustic music in the city park on Wednesday nights in the summer, large art shows, easy access to city parks and the bike trail, hiking, skiing and snowmobiling (25 minutes away), cross country skiing and much more.The building itself is a net zero building, generating more energy than it uses, thanks to the large solar array on the roof. The near-instant hot water is designed to reduce the volume of used. We have a laundry onsite with high efficiency machines to reduce the amount of energy required to host you. We are delighted to offer you a beautiful space that supports our values of practical sustainability.If you plan to stay with us for a week or more, we offer laundry service at no extra charge. Laundry requiring dry cleaning or pressing will be taken offsite.You will access the building through the glass door, which can be found at the end of the sidewalk near the off-street parking in the alley. Once you are inside, you'll head upstairs to the door at the end of the hallway. If you have a larger group, please book adjoining apartments so space can be shared. The Studio is a 2-person oasis in an adorable neighborhood with a babbling brook, where you can rest in quiet and watch the turkeys, deer, ducks, and squirrels. Alex (Sprout), a star of Building Outside the Lines and Cappie’s stepdaughter, redesigned the interior of the space. She has provided outdoor seating nearby under the trees, next to the brook that runs in the summer. The Studio is located in the sideyard of an historic home in a residential area on the edge of Spearfish. It originally was the servants’ quarters, but was mostly used as a henhouse for much of the 1900s. In 2015, it was renovated as an office space. Then Alex remodeled it yet again for a vacation rental. The family in the home enter and exit from the other side of the house (including the garage), so you will have utmost privacy.
